Serie A is stereotypically the league for defensive masterclasses, so it is no surprise that there are a number of top-level goalkeepers in the Italian top-flight.

Ivan Provedel won last season’s Golden Glove with his 21 clean sheets helping Lazio to second place behind runaway champions Napoli, for whom Alex Meret recorded 16 shutouts on the way to Scudetto glory.

Provedel has so far kept nine clean sheets  while Meret boasts four shutouts. But it is Yann Sommer who leads the way for clean sheets this season with 18 from 32 appearances after joining from Bayern Munich last summer. That puts him one clear of his closest rival, with Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (17) and Wojciech Szczesny (15) pushing him close. Overall there are six goalkeepers with at least 10 clean sheets for the season, with Mike Maignan the latest to reach that figure with his shutout in AC Milan’s goalless draw with Juventus at the weekend.

For saves, it’s Michele Di Gregorio leading the way, one of just three goalkeepers to break the 100-mark this season. Wladimiro Falcone was the first to do so, with Lorenzo Montipo completing the trio. Three more goalkeepers are in the 90s, with two including Maignan in the 80s.

Below, you can keep track of which goalkeepers have recorded the most clean sheets and saves during the 2023/24 campaign.
