Newcastle United finished fifth in the Premier League in 2024-25. That was enough to secure Champions League football for the 2025-26 campaign.
But the Magpies face a battle to secure another top-four finish this season. It’s a tight battle as we enter the final third of the campaign, with a lot of teams in the fight for European football.
Read on to see Newcastle’s outright odds for the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Newcastle odds to finish in the 2025-26 Premier League top five: Outright odds and predictions
Newcastle finished fifth in the Premier League last season, which was enough to seal Champions League football. And it looks like that will be enough this time around. English teams have been strong in Europe this season, so it will take a lot for England to lose their extra spot.
The Magpies are having to manage their top five hunt alongside playing Champions League football, reaching the knockout phase play-offs of the latter. That is something they struggled with a few years ago, but at least Newcastle did get past the group this time around.

Newcastle odds to finish in the 2025-26 Premier League top six: Outright odds and predictions
A top-six finish in the Premier League generally secures European football. But it’s not 100% certain. It relies on at least one of the two domestic cup winners qualifying for Europe through their league positions. Or the Premier League getting a fifth Champions League spot. It’s been 12 years since the sixth-placed Premier League side last failed to qualify for Europe. Everton were the unlucky team in 2012-13, when Swansea City won the Capital One Cup while finishing ninth, and FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic were relegated.
Since their return to the Premier League in 2017-18, Newcastle have finished inside the top six just twice — in 2022-23 and 2024-25 — securing Champions League football both times. In 2023-24, with the added distraction of Champions League football, the Magpies finished seventh.

Newcastle Golden Boot odds: Outright odds and predictions
It’s been almost 30 years since a Newcastle player last won the Premier League Golden Boot. Alan Shearer took the crown in 1996-97, with 25 goals in 31 games for the Magpies. He was the second Newcastle player to win the award, after Andrew Cole (34 goals in 40 games) two seasons earlier.
Alexander Isak went close last season, finishing second to Mo Salah. But he was still six goals behind the Egyptian. And he’s no longer at Newcastle. There are big shoes for Nick Woltemade to fill — though Bruno Guimaraes is currently their top scorer.
Newcastle PFA Player of the Year odds: Outright odds and predictions
Two Newcastle players have been named PFA Player of the Year since the award was first handed out in 1973-74. They came in consecutive seasons too. Les Ferdinand was the first in 1995-96, while Alan Shearer winning it a year later. But that’s been Newcastle’s lot. There aren’t any Newcastle players really fancied at the moment, either.

Newcastle ins and outs
Newcastle left it quite late in the summer transfer window to do their business. But they still spent big. Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa and Anthony Elanga were all signed in £50million+ deals. And even Jacob Ramsey and Malick Thiaw weren’t cheap. Aaron Ramsdale arrived on loan from Southampton, while Antonio Cordero and Park Seung-soo were other permanent signings. There were no incomings during the winter window.
Of course, the biggest news was Alexander Isak’s £125m departure. Callum Wilson was another striker to leave, at the end of his contract. Isaac Hayden and Jamal Lewis also left at the ends of their contracts. Martin Dubravka, Lloyd Kelly and Sean Longstaff were among the other departures. Jamaal Lascelles left permanently during the winter window among some loan departures.
