We’re into the final sprint of the 2024-25 La Liga season, and the Pichichi Trophy race is heating up.
For those unaware, the Pichichi Trophy is La Liga’s Golden Boot, awarded to the player with the most goals in the league every season. Last season Artem Dovbyk won the award, scoring 24 times as Girona secured a top-four finish.

No player has retained the Pichichi Trophy since Lionel Messi won the award five seasons in a row between 2016-17 and 2020-21. And there will be no successful defence this season, with Dovbyk leaving Girona to join Roma in Serie A.
There is only one former Pichichi Trophy winner still active in La Liga, with Robert Lewandowski taking the award in 2022-23, scoring 23 goals to help Barcelona win the title. So, will Lewandowski win the award for a second time or will there be a new name on the trophy?
Come back here throughout the season to see how the race is going.
La Liga 2024-25 Pichichi predictions
After a slow start to the season, the most-hyped transfer of the summer has finally found his feet in the Real Madrid shirt. Kylian Mbappe comes with Golden Boot experience, winning six consecutive trophies in Ligue 1. And let’s not forget about his 2022 World Cup and 2023-24 Champions League Golden Boots. The Frenchman has scored 22 goals so far for Real Madrid, trailing the leader by just three. However, his straight red card against Alaves will severely harm his chances with so few games remaining.
Alexander Sorloth has swapped Villarreal for Atletico Madrid to replace Alvaro Morata, scoring 12 times so far.
While Robert Lewandowski is around, no Golden Boot race is safe and even in an off-year, the Polish legend still scored 19 goals for Barcelona. He made a ridiculous start to the season and has already bettered his tally from the previous campaign, now on 25, three ahead of Mbappe.
