Arsenal win the Premier League
Arsenal have achieved their primary objective of winning the Premier League title, which was officially confirmed on Tuesday night (19th May) after Manchester City dropped points against Bournemouth.
Mikel Arteta becomes the eighth manager in Arsenal’s history to deliver the English title and the first to do so since Arsene Wenger completed the Invincibles campaign in 2003-04.
The celebrations are fully deserved, but Arsenal now have the chance to turn an outstanding season into a truly historic one.
Can Arsenal win the Champions League?
The Champions League (6/5) trophy has always eluded Arsenal, who were beaten finalists in 2006, and they lost to eventual winners PSG in the semi-finals last year.
However, they powered through the league phase with a flawless record of eight wins from eight matches to reach the knockout rounds in emphatic fashion, and have since overcome Bayer Leverkusen in the last-16, Sporting CP in the quarter-finals, and Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.
The Gunners are now preparing for their first Champions League final in 20 years where they will face defending champions PSG, who are the 4/6 favourites to retain the trophy.
Can Arsenal win the double?
Arsenal are a club well-versed in winning doubles, although they haven’t lifted two major trophies in a single season since 2001-02, when they won the Premier League and FA Cup.
