Albania to win Euro 2024 odds: Probability, path to final, tactics, stats and confirmed squad
Albania will have been hoping to make a name for themselves at Euro 2024. However, it’s been an underwhelming tournament so far.
The Eagles are in just their second-ever major tournament, also showing up at Euro 2016. Then, they finished third in their group, but that wasn’t enough to secure passage to the last 16.
With a horrible group, Albania sit third after two games. They lost their opening game to Italy before snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat with a late equaliser against Croatia.

Albania route to the Euro 2024 final in Berlin
Group stage fixtures
- Albania 1-2 Italy
- Croatia 2-2 Albania
- Spain (24 June 2024, 8pm, Red Bull Arena)
Albania’s potential knockout stage opponents
Albania sit third in Group B on goal difference, and their best route to the knockout stages are either as runners-up or one of the best third-placed sides. If they do pull off a shock a finish second, Albania would take on the Group A runners-up, likely to be Switzerland at this moment. Then they could face England and France en route to a final against Germany.
Things are a bit messier if Albania qualifying in third, with Portugal a potential opponent.
Albania key players for this year’s European Championship
Albania top Euros Golden Boot contender: Armando Broja
- Key stat: Armando Broja has scored five goals for Albania, the second-most of any player in their squad for Euro 2024.
Sylvinho made a big call in leaving out 13-goal Sokol Cikalleshi from his 27-man squad. So that means Armando Broja will bear the brunt of the goalscoring responsibility. The Slough-born striker has always represented Albania at international level, turning down an invitation to play for England U21 in 2019, earning his first senior call up in 2020. Despite playing 22 times for Albania, Broja’s time with his country has been hampered by injury and then a lack of playing time. He started the opening game against Italy but was an unused substitute in the 2-2 draw with Croatia.
Albania primary playmaker: Jasir Asani
- Key stat: Jasir Asani was the only Albania player to record more than one assist in Euro 2024 qualifying.
Jasir Asani plays his club football in South Korea with Gwangju FC, with their 2024 season only just having started. But he was the man to rely on for Albania in Euro 2024 qualifying. Not just because he set up two of Albania’s 12 goals in qualifying, but the fact that he’s their corner taker too. The 28-year-old took 12 of Albania’s 21 corners in qualifying, as well as nine free-kicks. So far at Euro 2024, Asani has created two chances, one big chance and attempted six take-ons.
Albania card magnets & top tacklers: Taulant Seferi
- Key stat: Taulant Seferi made more tackles than any other Albania player in Euro 2024 qualifying.
Cikalleshi was prone to fouls and yellow cards in Euro 2024 qualifying, but Taulant Seferi was a busy man himself. Seferi made nine tackles in qualifying, more than any other Albania player. He also made 18 ball recoveries and three clearances. The midfielder committed seven fouls and was booked once, in just 394 minutes — averaging 1.6 fouls per 90 in qualifying. Playing on the left wing, a lot of Seferi’s action is against full-backs, with two touches and one foul so far.
Albania rising star: Kristjan Asllani
Albania have done well at bedding their young players at an early age, which means someone like Kristjan Asllani already has 18 caps at the age of 22. But he is still very much a rising star, and part of the future of Albania. Asllani has lived in Italy since he was five and was eligible to represent the Azzurri but opted to stick with the nation of his birth. He was part of Inter Milan’s Serie A-winning side in 2023/24, scoring one goal and providing two assists in 771 minutes — an average of 0.35 goal involvements per 90 and 0.93 chances created.

Albania tactical analysis and formation
Albania team stats from qualifying (average per game):
- Corners: 2.6
- Shots on target: 3.8
- Shots on target conceded: 3.1
- Offsides: 2
Sylvinho has gone with a 4-2-3-1 for Albania at Euro 2024, sticking to his guns. He has largely stuck to his players too. The goalkeeper, back four and double pivot have all started both of Albania’s games at Euro 2024 so far.
Ylber Ramadani and Kristian Asllani have always been Sylvinho’s go-to pairing as the double pivot, and they have retained his faith this summer. Jasir Asani and Nedim Bajrami have also started both games in attack, though the latter has been shifted between a No.10 role and being played on the wing.
