Spain have named their 26-man squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup as they travel to North America as favourites to win the competition.

Spain head into the World Cup as the favourites to lift the trophy for a second time following their maiden success in 2010. With good reason too, they have a squad jam-packed with talent and experience, who two years ago were crowned champions of Europe.
Spain have been drawn in Group H, with their tournament beginning on 15th June against newcomers Cape Verde, followed by Saudi Arabia on 21st June, before what looks likely to be their toughest test of the group stage against Uruguay on 26th June.

Three players to look out for this summer
Lamine Yamal (Barcelona)
Spain’s superstar has already played a pivotal role in the country’s Euro 2024 triumph where he was named Best Young Player, now the 18-year-old is targeting glory on a global scale with World Cup favourites Spain. Yamal heads to North America on the back of a fantastic season for Barcelona, where he scored 24 goals and carved out 18 assists in 45 games. His record for Spain currently stands at six goals and 12 assists in 25 games, which he’s sure to enhance this summer.
Pedri (Barcelona)
Yamal’s club and international teammate Pedri is a key figure in Spain’s midfield. He is the player who makes the side tick, using his intelligence, movement and control to link play and dictate the rhythm of matches. He was unfortunate to pick up an injury in the Euro 2024 quarter final win over Germany, which saw him miss the final two matches, meaning he’ll be extra hungry for glory this summer.
Rodri (Manchester City)
Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, endured a disrupted campaign at club level, with injuries limiting him to just 21 Premier League appearances. He will be keen to rebuild his sharpness in the warm-up friendlies ahead of the World Cup, as on his day he remains arguably the finest holding midfielder in world football.
