2026 World Cup games at NRG Stadium
There will be seven games at the NRG Stadium at the 2026 World Cup, five of which are in the group stage. Its first game is in Group E on the opening round of fixtures, with four-time champions taking on debutants Curacao. The stadium will also host one game in Group F, one from Group H and two in Group K.
NRG Stadium will host one game in the round of 32, with its final game in the last-16 on 4th July 2026.

NRG Stadium: History
NRG Stadium is the home of the NFL team Houston Texans, and has been since it first opened in 2002. It has also been used to host two Super Bowls, in 2004 and 2017.
In terms of football, the stadium has hosted a number of games for the United States Men’s National Team as well as Mexico. It has also hosted matches at various Concacaf Gold Cups, including its first final in 2025. The stadium was used in the Copa America in 2016 and 2024, as well as the 2010 MLS All-Star game between Manchester United and MLS All-Stars.
Outside of football, the NRG Stadium has hosted rodeo, motorsports, hockey and a WrestleMania. As a venue, NRG Stadium is also used for concerts with the likes of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Linkin Park performing over the years.
