2026 World Cup games at Estadio Akron
Estadio Akron is the only 2026 World Cup stadium that will not host a knockout stage game. All four of its matches come in the group stage. The stadium will host one of Mexico’s group matches, against South Korea. That’s one of two matches Estadio Akron will host in Group A, alongside South Korea’s clash with Czech Republic.
The stadium will also host one game in Group K and another in Group H: Colombia vs DR Congo, and Uruguay vs Spain.

Estadio Akron: History
Estadio Akron is very much a football stadium, built for Liga MX giants C.D. Guadalajara in 2010. One of the first matches at the stadium was a friendly between Chivas and Manchester United to mark Javier Hernandez moving between the clubs.
The stadium has also hosted a handful of games for the Mexican national team, most recently in October 2024 — a 2-0 win over the United States.
Outside of football, Estadio Akron has hosted a Canelo Alvarez fight against John Ryder and a Shakira concert.
