Real Madrid’s burgeoning Brazilian talent Vinicius Junior has been discussing the virtual world of football.
On the pitch Vinicius has been making considerable headways this campaign, recently netting a brace in the Champions League quarter-finals to eliminate Liverpool from the competition, while off it, he has been enjoying similar success.

Growing up the 20-year-old has discussed playing with his “greatest heroes” in video game format, but now the prodigious attacker is enjoying his own pixelated progression, revealing he regularly selects himself when starting up a new game.
He told UEFA’s official website: “Arriving here and playing with my greatest heroes, who I used to watch on TV or while playing video games.
“Now I can play as myself, which I do a lot.”
Vinicius then went on to reveal who he regularly pits his wits against on FIFA — and who the best players are at the club.
He added: “I play a lot against Rodrygo and [Eder] Militao, who I’m closest to; we’re always playing.
“Who is the best FIFA player at Madrid? I think it’s [Marcos] Asensio and [Dani] Carvajal: they’re good.”

It hasn’t been an easy transition for the Rio de Janeiro-born star, relocating from Flamengo to Los Blancos in 2018 as an unheralded teenager with a huge price tag above his head, but Vinicius is now coming into his own across the Atlantic and relishing La Liga’s limelight.
He continued: “Facing these changes when you are [just 18] is something good and bad at the same time.
“It is good because you have more time to learn things and play during several years in Europe, but you also face the fear and insecurity of playing for the greatest club in the world and doing things right.
“I was very young when I came to a new country, and I had to change my habits both on and off the pitch to get used to another football culture, which is completely different from Brazil.”
