Udinese team news
Although Serie A doesn’t start for another two weeks, this will be Udinese’s final pre-season match as they kick off their competitive campaign with a Coppa Italia tie next Friday. Udinese’s pre-season preparations have seen them mostly based in Austria, playing four friendlies their including a 3-3 draw with Union Berlin and 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. The Italian side have been busy in the summer transfer window, bringing in seven players including Adam Masina from Watford and Portimonense’s Beto, who scored 11 goals in the Primeira Liga last season.
Chelsea team news
Chelsea will be thankful to be able to call upon N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek after the pair missed the club’s trip to the United States, left in England to train with the U23s. It remains to be seen whether they will play a part in Italy, however, as they have had less training time with their teammates. Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly will both be expected to feature heavily as Chelsea prepare for their Premier League opener against Everton next weekend. Thomas Tuchel also has a decision to make with regards to including the club’s fringe players, who he has no real plans for ahead of the new campaign, whether they play or are pushed to one side to focus on those that will form part of his Premier League squad.
Scoreline prediction: Udinese 1-2 Chelsea
