Tottenham will look to follow up a first Premier League win of 2026 when they take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
This clash kicks off at 19:00 (GMT) on Sunday 3rd May, and will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1 and HBO Max.
Tottenham predicted lineup vs Aston Villa
Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Kinsky; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma; Kolo Muani, Gallagher, Tel; Richarlison
Roberto De Zerbi will hope to oversee a second league victory of 2026 to drag Spurs away from danger. Joao Palhinha bagged a late winner at Wolves at Molineux last weekend.
Tottenham team news vs Aston Villa
Tottenham’s win at Wolves, however, came at a huge cost. De Zerbi is unable to call upon Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke for the rest of the season after the pair sustained respective injuries in the Midlands last weekend.
Simons is unlikely to play again this year having suffered an ACL injury. Solanke’s hamstring injury, meanwhile, may rule the striker out of the World Cup.
The duo join long-term absentees Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus, Ben Davies and Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines. Cristian Romero also misses out for the north London side.
Guglielmo Vicario is close to a return, but this comes too soon for the Italian. As such, De Zerbi will continue with Antonin Kinsky between the sticks. Destiny Udogie and Pape Sarr will also be assessed, though the former should be fine to feature in some capacity.
James Maddison is in training, but it remains to be seen whether he will be involved in any capacity. And with the attack down the bare bones, Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani are set to provide the width in a 4-2-3-1 setup.
Kinsky deserves to keep his spot
Antonin Kinsky pulled off a remarkable stop at Molineux last week. The Czech youngster denied Joao Gomes at the death to play his part as Spurs claimed a vital three points.
It’s been quite the turnaround in fortunes for Kinsky. The 17-minute debacle in Madrid seems a long time ago now. Thrust back into first team action after Guglielmo Vicario underwent surgery for a hernia, the former Slavia Prague man hasn’t put a foot wrong.

Rather, there is an argument to be made that Kinsky deserves to keep his spot between the sticks even with Vicario close to a return. The Italian is widely expected to leave the club this summer. Continuing with Kinsky would be the wiser option for the long-term.
And with superior distribution, Spurs are able to turn defence into attack quicker with the 23-year-old starting. De Zerbi must therefore stick to his guns and continue with Kinsky in goal.
