Gabriel Martinelli eased any concerns when putting the Gunners ahead shortly before half-time and that’s because Arsenal are unbeaten whenever he finds the net.

This was ultimately the 30th match in which Martinelli scored for them in all competitions, with the North Londers Londoners never losing (25 wins and five draws).

It also turned out to be another milestone for the Brazilian forward. He’s now scored in his first start in the Champions League (v Sevilla), Europa League (v Standard Liège), Premier League (v West Ham) and League Cup (v Nottingham Forest).

Martinelli was assisted by Gabriel Jesus which proved to be a first as it was the first time two Brazilian Arsenal players combined for a Champions League goal. Jesus went from provider to goalscorer after the break.

His effort meant he became just the second player to score in his first three games for Arsenal in the Champions League, after Marouane Chamakh in 2010/11.

Nemanja Gudelj, who has now scored in consecutive Champions League games, posted the hosts consolation goal.
