Manchester United won a Premier League away game for the first time in eight months on Sunday when they beat Norwich City 3-1 at Carrow Road.
The Red Devils have suffered an inconsistent start to the new season but, having built on their 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool with wins on the road against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League and the Canaries, they now appear to be back on track.
Man United’s win in East Anglia was spearheaded by the excellent forward triumvirate of Daniel James, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, with the latter two, in particular, linking up expertly with each other in a tantalising partnership.
Marital and Rashford amassed a combined eight shots on target during Sunday’s win, while they completed five dribbles between them and scored two decisive goals after Scott McTominay had given Man United the lead.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men don’t make it easy for themselves at the moment, regardless of the scoreline, and before Martial and Rashford scored, both forwards had time to have a penalty saved by Tim Krul.
That threw up the rather quirky stat of the pair being the first team-mates to both score a goal and miss a penalty in a single Premier League match.
Of course, it didn’t make much difference to the end result as United ran out worthy winners, while Martial and Rashford have even been touted by some fans as the new Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, such was the impressive nature of their link-up play.

That said, Solskjaer has had to work hard to find solutions to Man United’s goalscoring problems and on another day, these penalty misses might have come back to bite them.
