Nottingham Forest vs Brentford predictions, odds, betting tips and team news

Nottingham Forest host Brentford in a Premier League showdown on Thursday, 1 May, at 7:30 pm (UK time). This match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Premier League.
Nottingham Forest are still chasing a Champions League spot and currently sit in sixth position whilst Brentford have a slim chance of making Europe but know a defeat here would all but end that chance.
Under 1.5 goals (16/5 with BetMGM)
The last four Premier League matches at The City Ground have seen fewer than 1.5 goals scored (0.75 per game), with one goalless draw and three matches ending in 1-0 victories for the winning team. This is expected to be a tight game with both teams chasing a European place and unwilling to give much away. Nottingham Forest have seen all of their last four Premier League matches settled by a single goal whilst Brentford have seen two of their last three matches fail to beat the 2.5 goal line.
Bryan Mbeumo anytime goalscorer (13/5 with Paddy Power)
Only three players—Mohamed Salah (10), Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Alexander Isak (both nine)—have scored more Premier League goals in 2025 than Bryan Mbeumo (eight). The Cameroonian striker has scored four goals in his last five matches in all competitions and has netted 18 times so far this season, targeting a 20 goal season for the first time in his time at Brentford.

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford Odds
How both teams go into Nottingham Forest vs Brentford
Reaching next season’s Champions League and returning to European football’s high seat is still within Nottingham Forest’s grasp despite hitting a brick wall in recent weeks: three wins across their previous eight Premier League matches (four losses and one draw). After playing 33 times, Forest sits in sixth, which would see them qualify for the Europa League, but is level on points with fifth-placed Chelsea, who have played one game more. That being said, Newcastle in third are two points ahead, making the race for Champions League football in the final weeks intriguing. Forest will also be seeking a return to successful ways at home after Everton ended their nine-game unbeaten streak (two draws and seven wins).
Finishing in the top 10 is now Brentford’s goal in what has been a topsy-turvy season. An impressive 4-2 win over Brighton ended a three-game winless streak (one loss and two draws) and their first Premier League success at home since early December (five losses and three draws). Interestingly, it was Forest who started that aforementioned eight-game winless run at Gtech Community Stadium, so the Bees will be out for revenge. Their form on the road has been slightly better, winning five of their last seven games, albeit their previous two matches away from home yielded only one point. They can still technically qualify for Europe but that chance is very slim and relies heavily on the times above them dropping plenty of points over the closing weeks of the season.
Nottingham Forest team news
Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi should be available for Nottingham Forest after the pair were recently sidelined with respective injuries.
Brentford team news
Fabio Carvalho (shoulder), Joshua Dasilva (knee), and Igor Thiago (knee) are ruled out, with Carvalho not expected back for Brentford until next season. There is no return date for Aaron Hickey, who is currently being assessed.
Nottingham Forest vs Brentford head-to-head
Nottingham Forest ended a six-game winless run against Brentford in all competitions (three draws and three losses). Before that, Forest had three straight wins, albeit in the Championship.
