    Mohamed Salah scores to equal Jamie Vardy record as Liverpool come from behind to beat Newcastle


    Mohamed Salah equalled a Jamie Vardy record in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Newcastle at Anfield.

    The Egyptian scored Liverpool’s second goal as they came from 0-1 down to win 3-1 against Newcastle. It was a simple effort as Sadio Mané’s shot was saved, Salah appeared to slam home the rebound with authority and give Liverpool their first lead of the game.

    That goal was Salah’s 15th of the Premier League season as the Egyptian continues to run away with the golden boot race. But more impressive it was the 15th consecutive Premier League game where Salah has scored or made an assist.

    Salah has now equalled Jamie Vardy’s record run of 15 consecutive games with a goal involvement, and will have a chance to make the record his own with a goal or assist against Spurs at the weekend.

    Salah’s run encompasses 14 goals (including one hat-trick) and 7 assists, which sees him edge ahead of Vardy who had 14 goals and 3 assists in his run. A Salah goal at Tottenham Stadium would be the perfect way for the Egyptian to break the streak.

    And to be honest, considering how well Salah is playing right now you wouldn’t put it past him to score or assist against Leeds on Boxing Day as well, which would make it 17 straight games with a goal or assist and as that could be the last game he plays before heading off to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations it would be a perfect way to go.
