Arsenal are looking to get their Premier League title chase back on track following back-to-back away draws with Brentford and Wolves as they take on arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday afternoon at 4.30pm. Can the Gunners overcome a Spurs side who will take to the field under Igor Tudor for the first time in this North London Derby?
Best Bets & Predictions
| Our Prediction | Odds & Bookmaker | Confidence | Why I’m Backing It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arsenal to lead at half-time | 11/10 @ Bet365 (47.6%) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Despite winning just two of their last seven Premier League games, Arsenal have conceded just one first-half goal across those seven games. Spurs meanwhile have been behind at the break in five of their last six Premier League outings. |
| Xavi Simons over 1.5 shots | 5/4 @ Unibet (44.4%) | ⭐⭐⭐ | Only Richarlison has taken more shots per game in the Premier League for Tottenham this season than Xavi Simons’ 1.6 and the Dutchman took three shots in the defeat to Newcastle last time out. He’ll hope to kickstart his Spurs career under a new manager on Sunday afternoon. |

How both teams go into Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur’s domestic season has been nothing short of a disaster. The Lilywhites finally decided to relieve Thomas Frank of his duties following their defeat to Newcastle United last week as the club sit slumped in 16th place in the table after 26 games having been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions. They are currently sitting only five points clear of the relegation zone with 12 games of the season remaining.
Igor Tudor, formerly of Juventus and Udinese among others, is the man who has been chosen to lead the club through this stormy patch and through to calmer waters and he faces a very tough test in his first game, with table-topping arch rivals Arsenal making the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With Spurs having gone eight games without a win in the league, three points here would be handy for a myriad of reasons.

Arsenal have been in pole position in the Premier League title race this season but form has suffered in recent weeks. The Gunners have won just two of their last seven games and their midweek draw with relegation certs Wolves leaves them just five points clear of second-placed Manchester City having played one game more. The pressure is dialling up and in recent years, this is where Arsenal have started to come apart.
Few things can put a season back on track quite like a North London derby victory though, and Mikel Arteta’s men ran out 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium thanks in no small part to a hat-trick from ex-Tottenham target Eberechi Eze. A similar performance and result here could be hugely important but with City set to play Newcastle at 8pm the evening prior, the pressure may be piled on yet further before kick-off.
Tottenham Hotspur team news
Spurs remain without several key players. Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, Kevin Danso and Mohammed Kudus are definite absentees alongside the suspended Cristian Romero. Pedro Porro and Richarlison will be assessed prior to kick-off.
Arsenal team news
Mikel Merino will miss out for Arsenal although Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Max Dowman could potentially be in line to return for this game.

Head-to-Head
Recent Meetings
Arsenal have had the better of recent derbies, winning five of the last seven. The last meeting ended 4-1 to the Gunners — and goals are rarely in short supply when these two meet.

Conclusion
No need to get cute here. Spurs are miles off it, especially at the back and they have been particularly slow starters of late. The Gunners have the best defence in the league and recent derby dominance. I’m backing Arsenal to lead at half-time as they have on no fewer than 13 occasions in the Premier League so far this season. If you want a player angle, Xavi Simons in the shot markets could be worth a nibble. Spurs might huff and puff, but the numbers say Arsenal keep them at arm’s length.
