The Netherlands resume their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign against Poland at De Kuip on Thursday, September 4 at 7.45pm. The Oranje look to maintain their perfect record in Group G. The match will be streamed on Prime Video UK.
Memphis Depay to score first (4/1 with Unibet)
History beckons for the Corinthians forward, whose brace against Malta last time out saw him equal Robin van Persie’s Dutch record of 50 goals. Having now found the net in his last three international appearances, he will be confident of continuing that streak, and with added motivation knowing he will stand in a league of his own if so.
There is plenty of motivation for Depay to find the net and he’ll be desperate to hold the outright record for his country.
Netherlands to score three or more goals (5/4 with William Hill)
The Dutch have scored 10 unanswered goals in their opening two Group G matches, while they have only failed to find the net in three of their 20 previous meetings with Poland. With the attacking quality at Ronald Koeman’s disposal, you would expect them to remain clinical in front of goal in this contest.
It’s been a great run of form for Netherlands, who will look to continue to build momentum heading towards the World Cup. Poland struggled in their last game, falling to a 2-1 loss against Finland in their last outing and they could be really troubled by a Netherlands side full of confidence.

How both teams go into Netherlands vs Poland
The Netherlands – three-time World Cup finalists – occupy second place in Group G, albeit having played two games fewer than early pacesetters Finland.
Koeman’s side have only been beaten once in 90 minutes since their Euro 2024 semi-final defeat by England, while they were edged out by Spain on penalties in the Nations League quarter-finals.
Netherlands have scored 10 goals in their two games, without conceding a goal, although one of those games was against minnows, Malta.
Poland, who are targeting their third straight World Cup finals qualification, suffered relegation from League A after losing four of their six games in Group A1.
Jan Urban’s side responded with three straight wins – including back-to-back in Group G – but their momentum halted with a 2-1 defeat to Finland last time out.
It was a disappointing result for Poland and they will face an uphill struggle to qualify outright from Group G if they fail to pick up a result in this encounter.
Netherlands team news
Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out until after the international break, but Liverpool team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch have all retained their places in Ronald Koeman’s squad. Teun Koopmeiners, Bart Verbruggen, Jurrien Timber and Matthijs de Ligt have all been recalled to the squad after they missed out last time through injury.
Poland team news
The absence of a certain Robert Lewandowski was evident against Finland but the Poland talisman is back in the squad for this tie and should spearhead the attack. Meanwhile, Piotr Zielinski also returns after injury, and the Inter midfielder will earn his 100th cap should he make an appearance for his nations in this tie.
Netherlands vs Poland head-to-head
The Netherlands are unbeaten in their last 13 meetings with Poland, stretching back to a 2-0 defeat in May 1979. The two nations have met five times over the past five years, with Netherlands winning four of those encounters.
