Man Utd vs Fulham: predictions, stats, tips & odds

Manchester United will look to continue their revival under Michael Carrick as they take on Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The Red Devils managed a dramatic 3-2 win over Arsenal last weekend, and below you can find our match preview and best bets for the meeting with the Cottagers, which kicks off at 2:00pm.

Best Bets & Predictions

Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy We’re Backing It
Manchester United to Win & Under 4.5 Goals1/1 @ Bet365
(50.0%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐Manchester United have lost just one of their last 20 Premier League games against Fulham (W15 D4), going down 2-1 at Old Trafford in February 2024 and we can’t see them losing here. United are unbeaten in six Premier League games (W3 D3) and haven’t had a longer unbeaten streak since a run of eight in January and February 2022 under Ralf Rangnick. The Reds have been much improved under Michael Carrick and we fancy them to win here and under five goald to be scored at a very backable even money.
Bruno Fernandes Assist3/1 @ Bet365
(25.0%)
⭐⭐⭐We put up Bruno Fernandes to assist against Arsenal last weekend at a massive 13/2, for which he duly obliged and gave us punters a happy Sunday. The Manchester United man has more assists than any other player in the league this season with ten. Take the best price of 3/1, for him to follow up with another.

How both teams head into Man Utd vs Fulham

There was little time for reflection for Ruben Amorim as his successor, whether interim or permanent, oversaw stunning Premier League victories over Manchester City and Arsenal in consecutive weeks. A 2 0 derby win was followed by a thrilling five goal display at the Emirates, where strikes from Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha handed Arsenal their first home defeat of the season in any competition.

Michael Carrick has strengthened his case for a long term role by becoming the first manager since 2010 to beat the teams starting the day first and second in the table in back to back matches. Manchester United are now firmly in control of the race for fourth place, sitting one point clear of Chelsea and two ahead of Liverpool going into gameweek 24. A six match unbeaten league run has underpinned that surge, while summer attacking investment is paying off with goals scored in each of their last 11 league games and just one conceded in their last three at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick has already come through two major early tests since returning to the dugout, but another demanding challenge lies ahead against Marco Silva’s Fulham, who are firmly in the hunt for European qualification. After a wildly inconsistent first half of the campaign, in which they won and lost nine matches apiece, the Cottagers have steadied themselves and suffered just one defeat in their last eight games across all competitions, winning five of them.

Fulham’s momentum was summed up by a dramatic 2 1 comeback win over Brighton, sealed by a late Harry Wilson free kick at Craven Cottage. They currently sit seventh in the table, four points shy of the top four, helped by a sharp improvement away from home with 10 points taken from their last five league trips. Silva’s side also held United to a 1 1 draw earlier this season and have recent cause for confidence at Old Trafford, where they claimed a league win in February 2024, even if it remains their only top flight victory there in their last 20 visits.

Man Utd team news

Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu are both out injured for the hosts.

Fulham team news

Head-to-Head: Last 6 Meetings

Manchester United have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning four of the last six meetings, with Fulham claiming just one victory and one draw. Most games have been tightly contested, often decided by a single goal.

Final Thoughts

There is fresh optimism around Old Trafford at the moment after league victories over Manchester City and Arsenal under Michael Carrick. We fancy the Red Devils to follow up again, but the smart play here looks to be to back them to win, with under 5 goals being scored at even money.
