Marco Reus has revealed he will try “everything” to convince Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz to join Borussia Dortmund.
Havertz is being tipped as a future regular for Germany, and Dortmund captain Reus wants the 20-year-old to follow Julian Brandt’s lead by moving to Signal Iduna Park when he does decide to leave Leverkusen.

Brandt joined Dortmund from Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, providing his first assist for his new club against Augsburg on the opening weekend of the new Bundesliga season.
Meanwhile, Havertz has scored two goals in four appearances across all competitions this term, strengthening his case as one of Europe’s best young players.
The German was linked with Bayern Munich throughout the summer window, while the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been credited with an interest.
But Reus believes Havertz belongs at Dortmund with his former Leverkusen teammate Brandt.
“I will do everything I can to get him to Dortmund,” Reus said.
“I don’t know how much he would cost or if Dortmund could afford him.
“But I will do my best. Just like I did with Julian [Brandt]. In Julian, I have an ally who still knows him very well. So let’s wait and see.”

Havertz not “scared off” by Bayern
Along with RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, Havertz was expected to leave Leverkusen for Bayern in the summer, as is usually the case with promising young players in Germany.
Despite a deal failing to materialise, Havertz – who has three years left on his current contract – has admitted he will re-assess his options next summer.
“They (Bayern) haven’t scared me off,” he said. “I don’t know exactly what it was like with Timo, but it just didn’t happen for me this year.
“I think there were a number of reasons why. But I’m happy to be here and stay in Leverkusen for another year. We’ll see what will happen next summer.”
