Manchester City are gearing up for the launch of their Fifa Club World Cup defence as Pep Guardiola’s side look to salvage something from a disappointing season.
It is just under 18 months since Man City beat Brazilian side Fluminense 4-0 in Saudi Arabia to crown a memorable 2023, in which they also won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and Super Cup.
However, things have taken an unexpected turn in recent times for Guardiola and his players, who only just secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season.
A mid-season slump saw them fall well out of Premier League title contention, while they also suffered an early Champions League exit, and were beaten by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
This, therefore, represents their final trophy-winning opportunity this term, as they look to avoid going without silverware in a season for only the second time since Guardiola took charge in July 2016.
Man City head to the United States for the expanded tournament, in which they were drawn in Group G alongside Juventus, Moroccan side Wydad and Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates.
Read on to find out when and where the former Premier League winners will be in action.
