Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes his former side may have denied Liverpool their first Premier League title.
The Reds are in hot pursuit of title-rivals Manchester City and currently sitting second on 91 points, one point behind the Citizens with two games left to play.

Jurgen Klopp’s men can return to the top of the table with a win over Newcastle United on Saturday evening, with Man City not playing until Monday even against Leicester. Liverpool and Man City then end the season against Wolves and Brighton respectively.
But ex-England international believes that United have already ended the Merseyside club’s chances of pipping Pep Guardiola’s side to the title after their goalless draw at Old Trafford in February.
“What these two teams have done, right through the season, has been sensational,” Scholes told Premier League Productions.
“I won’t feel sorry for either of them… But you’ve got to admire what they’ve done.
“When you look back, Liverpool’s biggest mistake was not beating Manchester United at Old Trafford.

“When you see how many players United were missing… they then had three injuries. Lingard came on and had to go off.
“Liverpool were really poor that day and you saw the difference the other night when City came to Old Trafford and were dominant and looked a really top team.
“Liverpool, ironically, could have lost the title at Old Trafford.”

Although his claim for United spoiling Liverpool’s title-chances may be a little optimistic, Scholes certainly knows what it takes for a side to win the Premier League, making 499 league appearances for the Red Devils across a career which was dominated by every title and honour there is.
The midfielder scored 107 league goals to help United secure a supreme 11 league titles, the first coming in 1996 and the last in 2013. Scholes won 64.32% of his Premier League matches, generated 55 assists and was voted into the PFA Team of the Season on two occasions.
