Jurgen Klopp has sung the praises of January signing Luis Diaz, saying he has “never had a player like” him before.
The Colombian winger joined the Reds in the winter window for £49m, giving Klopp’s frontline an attacking adrenaline shot ahead of the second half of the season.
Having shone at Porto, whom he joined in 2019 from Colombian outfit Atletico Junior, the 25-year-old will now be looking to cause a splash in English football.
He made he debut as a second-half substitute in the FA Cup against Cardiff, before playing the full 90 minutes in the Premier League against Leicester City.
Despite working with some of the best in the sport, Klopp says he’s never experienced a player like Diaz before, whose “joy and love for football” has been palpable in these opening weeks.
“Luis is a top boy, a top class player,” Klopp said in his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
“He showed that already in two appearances he had for us.

“Last game he didn’t come on. He is a new player, we have to get used to new things in a team, we have all other players fit and they know exactly what I want from them.
