Joshua Zirkzee will not move in January, says Bologna sporting director
Bologna sporting director Marco Di Vaio says Joshua Zirkzee will not depart the club in January.
The 22-year-old Dutch forward has grown in stature following his move from Bayern Munich in 2022 and has recently been heavily linked with Milan and Manchester United.

After concluding that a pathway to Bayern’s first team was slim, the Schiedam native opted to join Parma and Belgian powerhouse Anderlecht on loan before permanently joining Bologna on a four-year deal.
Having enjoyed a tentative first season, bagging two goals across 19 appearances, he’s truly excelled this campaign having netted seven goals in 18 league outings to date.
When head coach Thiago Motta was recently asked if Zirkzee could one day play for a European super club one day, “It depends on him,” was his response.
As far as sporting director Di Vaio is concerned that will not be anytime soon while revealing former club Bayern can activate a release clause in his contract.

“How many phone calls have we received? None,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“And we wouldn’t answer anyway! Joshua is a nine-and-a-half [a cross between a striker and a playmaker], yes, but he doesn’t resemble anyone. He’s a unique player.
“The release clause? It is valid only for Bayern. For the other clubs the price is open… but our top players will not move in January.”
