Fulham vs Manchester United predictions, odds, betting tips and team news

Fulham welcome Manchester United to Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Sunday 24th August at 4:30pm. Both sides are looking up the table after finishing in the bottom half last season. The game will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports.

Sasa Lukic to receive first card (13/2 with Betway)

No player received more yellow cards in the Premier League last season than Lukic with 12, level with Liam Delap and Flynn Downes. As he looks to stifle the flow of Man Utd’s creativity, the Serbian could well find himself in the book again in his side’s first home game of the campaign.

Lukic was somewhat of a card magnet last term and we can’t see much changing this campaign. The tough tackling midfielder should be tasked with controlling Bruno Fernandes and that could lead to a booking for the Serb.

Matheus Cunha to score anytime (19/10 with Betway)

One of Amorim’s marquee signings of the window, Cunha knows he must hit the ground running with United. The Brazilian will be grateful for a trip to Craven Cottage so early in the season. After all, it is a stadium at which he has scored three times in his last two visits. Therefore, he will be confident of continuing that impressive little streak here, especially with Fulham having failed to register a clean sheet in their last 10 games.

Cunha looked really dangerous against Arsenal last weekend and was unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet, with David Raya producing a great save to deny him.

How both teams go into Fulham vs Manchester United

Fulham didn’t look good for long periods against Brighton last weekend but still managed to walk away with a point. They fell behind just after the half time break and it looked like they would lose their opening game of the season but Rodrigo Muniz rescued them with a goal deep into stoppage time.

It was far from a vintage performance from the Cottagers but there was plenty to work with and Marco Silva will be buoyed by the side salvaging a point from an impossible looking situation.

Man Utd were on the wrong side of a result last weekend, falling 1-0 to Arsenal at Old Trafford. The scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story however, and Ruben Amorim’s side were on top for large periods and will consider themselves unlucky not to grab at least a point.

They found David Raya in good form and were also denied a penalty when Matheus Cunha was felled in the box. Their performance was a far cry from those of last season but there is still plenty of work to be done by the Red Devils if they hope to be in the title picture come the end of the season.

Fulham team news

Antonee Robinson will not be available for Fulham until after the international break due to a knee injury. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Ryan Sessegnon is fit for selection but it’s not looking likely that he’ll be able to feature.

Manchester United team news

Man Utd will hope to have Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee, who scored the winner against Fulham on the opening day of last season, available. However, Ruben Amorim will be without Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez who are both still injured.

Fulham vs Manchester United head-to-head

Despite victory at Old Trafford on penalties in last season’s FA Cup, Fulham have not beaten Man Utd on home soil since a 3-0 triumph in December 2009.
