Real Madrid and Barcelona will contest the 2023/24 Supercopa de España.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men came through an entertaining contest with neighbours Atletico Madrid but needed extra time to run out 5-3 winners.
Barça, meanwhile, claimed a 2-0 success over Osasuna, a significant result given the club’s recent outings.
Between their 5-0 win over Antwerp in the Champions League last November and this semi-final triumph the Catalan giants had played 20 matches winning 12 times while suffering four losses.
However, those successes have come by a one-goal margin despite netting two or more goals in seven of those aforementioned contests, a frustrating run influential midfielder Frenkie de Jong acknowledged.
“It was an issue, it’s been a long time since we’ve won by more than one goal,” he told reporters. “At the end of the day, it’s about winning and playing well. We played a serious game, the first half wasn’t so good but the second half was better.”

Sunday’s final at the Al-Awwal Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be this season’s second Clásico following Real’s 2-1 comeback win at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys last October.
Jude Bellingham netted twice, including a 90+2 minute winner, in the final 25 minutes after İlkay Gündoğan gave the hosts a sixth-minute lead.
This will also be the ninth meeting with Supercopa de España honours on the line. Before the 2019/20 edition, these matches were contested over two legs, with Real Madrid winning six on aggregate and once via away goals.
In the only previous single match, which took place last season, Barcelona ran out 3-1 winners.
