Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not agreed a deal to leave the Toffees this summer, the player’s agent as confirmed.
Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a summer move away from Goodison Park and has made just 11 appearances across all competitions this season, suffering a foot injury early on and has started just three matches under Frank Lampard.
His lack of time on the pitch saw Calvert-Lewin left out of the most recent England squad, with Lampard revealing he would be using the time to get the striker’s fitness back up.
Everton will be hoping Calvert-Lewin can re-find his form from the of the season pre-injury, when he scored three goals in three Premier League games to get life under Rafa Benitez off to a perfect start.
It’s performances like those that have seen Calvert-Lewin linked with a move away, and according to some reports the striker had already agreed a deal with another Premier League club.
Arsenal and Newcastle United were among those linked, but Calvert-Lewin’s representatives 11WINS have now squashed those claims.
“Dominic has not agreed any deal, with any club,” they said.
“He is currently working very hard in training and is fully focused on finishing the season strong with Everton.”
While newly-minted Newcastle will be looking to bolster their squad in the summer as they try to put their relegation-battling season behind them, Arsenal are currently the favourites to sign Calvert-Lewin.
The Gunners sold Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January and have both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract at the end of the campaign, and neither have signed a new deal at the time of writing.
Calvert-Lewin is the sort of striker Arsenal would be interested in, a fox in the box that can finish the moves set up by the likes of Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
Last season, Calvert-Lewin scored more goals from inside the six-yard box than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues – netting 10. He was one clear of Erling Haaland and Andre Silva, while Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek (both seven) were his closest Premier League rivals.
But, for now, Calvert-Lewin’s focus will be on helping keep Everton in the Premier League. The Toffees currently sit just three points clear of the relegation zone with 11 games left to play, and have won just two of their 10 league matches since the start of 2022.
