Fulham were minutes away from pulling off another win at Liverpool but conceded twice in the final three minutes to suffer a 4-3 loss.

Marco Silva’s men came from behind to lead 2-3 — through goals from Harry Wilson, Kenny Tete and Bobby De Cordova-Reid — heading into the final moments before Wataru Endo’s equaliser set the stage for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s winner.

A Bernd Leno own goal and Alexis Mac Allister strike had initially given Liverpool the lead in their matchday 14 showdown at Anfield though despondent Fulham can still take positives from this setback notably the performance of full-back Antonee Robinson.

The 26-year-old American, nicknamed Jedi, recently came in for criticism but that is certainly behind him after producing no fewer than 13 interceptions during that aforementioned Liverpool defeat. It was the most in a single Premier League game on Opta’s record since the start of the 2006/07 season.

The USMNT international has made 38 interceptions this season, at least 15 more than any other player, though he still needs to make 118 more to match N’Golo Kanté’s effort from Leicester City’s title-winning season.

Kanté registered an incredible 156 interceptions in 2015/16. Since that campaign, no player has even broken triple figures. With a maximum of 24 games remaining, Robinson would need to play in every match and average 2.6 interceptions per appearance to become a centurion. To match Kanté’s record, the average would need to increase to 4.9. That would be Jedi’s best magic trick.

Meanwhile, Fulham teammate João Palhinha is still chasing the record for most tackles made in a single season.
