Anderlecht vs Hammarby: predictions, best bets and latest odds

Anderlecht vs Hammarby predictions take us to Brussels for the second leg of their Europa League second-qualifying round tie. The Belgian side welcome their Swedish opponents to the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Thursday 30th July, with the aggregate score locked at 1-1.

Danylo Sikan’s stunning sixth-minute free-kick gave Anderlecht the lead in Stockholm last week, but Frank Junior Adjei rescued a draw for Hammarby in the 89th minute after Nathan Saliba saw red for two bookable offences. With nothing separating the sides, this second leg promises a tense affair under the lights in the Belgian capital.

Anderlecht vs Hammarby predictions & betting tips

Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy We’re Backing It
Danylo Sikan anytime goalscorer9/5 @ bet365 (36%)⭐⭐⭐Sikan scored a brilliant free-kick in the first leg and leads Anderlecht’s attack again on home soil. The Ukrainian forward will operate as the main goal threat under new boss Vitor Bruno, and the bookmakers clearly fancy his chances as one of the shortest-priced scorers in the market. With home advantage and the tie in the balance, expect Anderlecht to funnel opportunities through their most dangerous attacker.
Paulos Abraham anytime goalscorer13/5 @ bet365 (28%)⭐⭐Abraham has scored eight goals across all competitions this year and leads the line for a Hammarby side who sit second in the Allsvenskan. The Swedish outfit need to find the net in Brussels if the hosts take the lead, so Abraham should see plenty of the ball in attacking areas. At 13/5, the value looks fair for a striker in strong form who carries the bulk of the goalscoring responsibility.

How both teams head into Anderlecht vs Hammarby

Anderlecht

The last few years have been a turbulent period for Anderlecht. The 34-time Belgian champions have not won the league title since the 2016/17 campaign and have recorded back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the Belgian top-flight.

That period of underachievement has resulted in another managerial change. Former Porto assistant Vitor Bruno became the club’s 34th permanent manager this summer. The first leg in Stockholm was his first competitive match in charge, and Thursday’s return is his first home fixture.

One of Bruno’s biggest challenges will be replacing the attacking output of Thorgan Hazard, who scored 15 goals last season before returning to former club Lens. The Purple and White have strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Lukas Ambros, Leo Petrot, Joshua Nga Kana and Giulian Biancone, although those additions have focused mainly on defence and midfield rather than replacing Hazard in the final third.

Despite losing their early advantage in Sweden, Anderlecht will feel confident heading into Thursday’s decisive fixture with home advantage on their side. However, they have won just one of their last five matches at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, which provides a note of caution.

Hammarby

Hammarby arrive in Brussels with the benefit of being well into their domestic campaign. Henrik Rydstrom’s side should carry sharper match fitness into this tie compared to an Anderlecht squad still finding their rhythm under new management.

Bajen reached this stage of Europa League qualifying after finishing second in the Allsvenskan last season, and they remain firmly in contention for another strong league finish in 2026. After 15 matches, Hammarby have recorded eight wins, three draws and four defeats, collecting 27 points to sit second in the standings. They remain 11 points behind leaders Sirius, however.

Defensive organisation has been a major factor behind their impressive campaign. No side in the Swedish top-flight have conceded fewer than their 15 goals so far this season.

However, their away form remains a concern heading into this decisive fixture. Hammarby have won just two of their seven Allsvenskan matches on the road in 2026, with only five teams collecting fewer away points.

Anderlecht vs Hammarby team news

Anderlecht will be without Nathan Saliba after his red card in the first leg ruled him out through suspension. Lukas Ambros is a potential replacement and looks set to make his first start since joining from Gornik Zabrze.

Bruno will also be without Cedric Hatenboer, Ilay Camara, Killian Sardella and Lucas Hey, who are all unavailable due to injury.

Captain Colin Coosemans is expected to continue in goal, while first-leg scorer Sikan should lead the attack alongside 19-year-old striker Mihajlo Cvetkovic.

Anderlecht predicted lineup (4-4-2): Coosemans; Maamar, Petrot, Biancone, Augustinsson; Llansana, Kana, Ambros, Nga Kana; Sikan, Seke

Hammarby have the luxury of being able to name the same starting XI from the first leg. Sourou Kone is the only absentee from their squad after a knee injury that has kept him sidelined since April.

Abraham, who has scored eight goals this year, will lead the line once again, with captain Nahir Besara operating behind him.

Hammarby predicted lineup (4-3-3): Hahn; Skoglund, Fofana, Winther, Persson; Karlsson, Tekie, Lind; Adjei, Besara; Abraham

Anderlecht vs Hammarby head-to-head

Thursday’s match is only the second meeting between these two clubs. The first leg in Stockholm ended 1-1, with Sikan’s early free-kick cancelled out by Adjei’s late equaliser.

Anderlecht vs Hammarby prediction

With qualification at stake, Thursday’s second leg should be another closely contested encounter between two evenly matched sides. The first leg showed Anderlecht have the quality to score first, but also the capacity to switch off late on — Saliba’s red card and Adjei’s equaliser proved that.

However, Anderlecht’s home advantage could prove decisive. Hammarby have struggled on the road in the Allsvenskan this year, winning just two of seven away fixtures. Meanwhile, Anderlecht will be desperate to give Bruno his first competitive victory and progress to the next qualifying round.

We expect the Belgian side to edge this one. Their squad depth and home support should be enough to see off a Hammarby side who will miss the late drama of the first leg’s equaliser and must now find a result away from home.
