The 2024-25 La Liga season is over and Kylian Mbappe has claimed the Pichichi trophy.
For those unaware, the Pichichi Trophy is La Liga’s Golden Boot, awarded to the player with the most goals in the league every season. In 2023/24, Artem Dovbyk won the award, scoring 24 times as Girona secured a top-four finish.

No player has retained the Pichichi Trophy since Lionel Messi won the award five seasons in a row between 2016-17 and 2020-21.
But perhaps that could change, with Mbappe storming to the award this campaign, netting 31 La Liga goals in his maiden Real Madrid campaign. That wasn’t enough to help Los Blancos to the title, with runner-up Robert Lewandowski pairing his 27 goals with a league medal. However, it’s still an incredible return considering the criticism he took earlier this season.
