It’s been an extremely busy week in the world of football transfers.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool took the headlines with the captures of Martin Zubimendi, Jamie Gittens and Milos Kerkez, respectively.
However, that trio represents a mere drop in a proverbial ocean of wheeling and dealing.
Here is a host of further deals from this week that you might have missed:
Kyogo Furuhashi
- From: Rennes
- To: Birmingham
Birmingham haven’t been shy in splashing the cash in recent years, with Jay Stansfield their standout acquisition last summer. The Blues are now spending big again in preparation for their return to the Championship, bringing Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi on board from Rennes a deal worth up to £10m.
Additionally, Birmingham have also signed Tommy Doyle from Wolves and James Beadle on loan from Brighton — the latter fresh from manning the goalposts in England’s U21 Euros triumph.
Marcin Bulka
- From: Nice
- To: Neom SC
Sunderland looked all set to strengthen their goalkeeper group with the signing of Marcin Bulka from Nice. However, at the last minute, Saudi outfit Neom SC made an offer the Polish stopper couldn’t refuse. Back to the drawing board for the Black Cats.
Alexandre Lacazette
- From: Lyon
- To: Neom SC
Neom have been very busy, also adding attacking duo and former Premier League stars Alexandre Lacazette and Said Benrahma, following Lyon’s relegation to Ligue 2 — which is being appealed.
Maxim De Cuyper
- From: Club Brugge
- To: Brighton
Brighton love plucking a promising player from a lesser league and the latest to follow that path is Maxim De Cuyper, with the 10-time Belgium international left-back arriving from Club Brugge for a reported £17.2m fee plus add-ons.
Salomon Rondon
- From: Pachuca
- To: Real Oviedo
Jose Salomon Rondon has enjoyed an incredibly eclectic career, playing for Newcastle, West Brom and Everton in England to varying levels of success. Abroad, meanwhile, he can count River Plate, CSKA, Dalian Professional, Malaga and Zenit among the wild list of teams he’s represented.
After a strong showing at Mexican giants Pachuca, Rondon has returned to Europe with La Liga side Real Oviedo.
Aaron Ramsey
- From: Free agent
- To: Pumas
While Rondon has left Mexico, another former big name of the Premier League has arrived, with Aaron Ramsey joining Pumas on a free transfer. The former Arsenal and Wales star recently ended his second spell with boyhood club Cardiff City after some poor showings as the Bluebirds were relegated to League One.
Igor Jesus
- From: Botafogo
- To: Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have done well with their Brazilians in recent years and now, they have another one on board in Igor Jesus. The striker arrives at the City Ground fresh from scoring twice in Botafogo’s run to the Club World Cup last 16.
Kyle Walker
- From: Manchester City
- To: Burnley
After an unsuccessful stint in Serie A, Kyle Walker is back in the Premier League and will look to use his wealth of experience to help keep Burnley up following another promotion. The Clarets have also signed former Man Utd talent Axel Tuanzebe and left-back Quilindschy Hartman from Feyenoord in a bid to bolster what was a rock-solid backline last season.
Max Aarons
- From: Bournemouth
- To: Rangers
Club legend James Tavernier is now 33 years old and has just one year left on his contract, so Rangers needed a succession plan. They’ve kicked the can down the road a little with the signing of Max Aarons from Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
Loum Tchaouna
- From: Lazio
- To: Burnley
Burnley have also opened the chequebook in attack, signing winger Loum Tchaouna from Lazio. The France youth international scored twice for Lazio across all competitions last season and never really hit the heights following more positive exploits with Salernitana.
Jarell Quansah
- From: Liverpool
- To: Bayer Leverkusen
Despite his undoubted potential, Jarell Quansah just couldn’t dislodge Ibrahima Konate to play regularly alongside Virgil van Dijk in the Liverpool defence. However, he’ll surely accelerate his development with German giants Bayer Leverkusen, who have paid £30m plus £5m add-ons for his services.
Fellow centre-back Nat Phillips has also departed Anfield for West Brom following loans at Stuttgart, Bournemouth, Celtic, Cardiff and Derby. Did you know Phillips was still officially a Liverpool player?
Diego Leon
- From: Cerro Porteno
- To: Manchester United
Casting an eye to the future, Man Utd have signed Paraguayan youngster Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno in a deal worth up to £3.6m. Now, if only they could sort out the present…
Angel Gomes
- From: Lille
- To: Marseille
One player who would do well for Ruben Amorim is Angel Gomes, but it’s been a long time since he was on the books at Man Utd. The England international’s contract at Lille ended this summer and after a long battle for his signature, he opted to stay in France with Marseille.
Jonathan David
- From: Lille
- To: Juventus
Jonathan David also left Lille this summer and after an even more intense chase, he decided Juventus was his next step. The Canada international is supremely talented and will surely be a goalscoring hit in Italy, with the remit to return the Old Lady as regular title challengers.
Tino Anjorin
- From: Empoli
- To: Torino
Former Chelsea talent Tino Anjorin registered two goals and three assists in 22 Serie A appearances last season, despite playing for an Empoli side that were relegated. That was enough to persuade Torino to bring him on board, extending his stay in the Italian top flight.
Max Wober
- From: Leeds United
- To: Werder Bremen
Max Wober struggled for minutes last season after returning on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach and the Austrian has returned to Germany, this time for another loan with Werder Bremen.
Philippe Coutinho
- From: Aston Villa
- To: Vasco
Did you know Philippe Coutinho was still an Aston Villa player? Well, he’s not anymore, with the former Liverpool star making his loan at Vasco da Gama permanent. Coutinho has registered eight goals and four assists in 44 appearances for Vasco so far.
Olivier Boscagli
- From: PSV
- To: Brighton
Brighton have been chasing Olivier Boscagli for some time now and finally, they have their man, with the Frenchman signing on a free transfer after winning back-to-back Eredivisie titles with PSV.
Kamaldeen Sulemana
- From: Southampton
- To: Atalanta
Kamaldeen Sulemana arrived at Southampton with so much promise but utterly failed to live up to expectations, registering just four goals and seven assists in 74 appearances across all competitions over three years. Now, he will look to get back on track with Italian high-flyers Atalanta. Maybe he can take inspiration from Ademola Lookman…
Joao Pedro
- From: Brighton
- To: Chelsea
There’s never a dull moment in the transfer window with Chelsea and hot on the heels of Gittens at the Stamford Bridge entrance is Joao Pedro. The Brazilian has been an exciting prospect in the Premier League with Brighton, as shown by his whopping £60m fee. No pressure.

Olivier Giroud
- From: LAFC
- To: Lille
It’s safe to say Olivier Giroud’s American adventure did not go to plan, with just five goals and three assists on the board in 38 appearances for LAFC across all competitions. Aged 38, the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker is back in his homeland, looking to help fill the gap left at Lille by Jonathan David.
Sebastiaan Bornauw
- From: Wolfsburg
- To: Leeds
While Wober has left Leeds United, the club have also been busy bringing players in, signing Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol from Wolfsburg and Udinese, respectively. Can the duo help the Whites re-establish themselves as a Premier League force?
Habib Diarra
- From: Strasbourg
- To: Sunderland
Sunderland have not been afraid to spend this summer as they also seek to consolidate in the top flight. Attacking midfielder Habib Diarra is the club’s new record signing, joining from Strasbourg for £35m. He was quickly followed by the £15m capture of DR Congo midfielder Noah Sadiki from Belgian champions Union SG.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
- From: Chelsea
- To: Arsenal
After a couple of loans, Kepa Arrizabalaga has finally departed Chelsea on a permanent basis, joining London rivals Arsenal as back-up to compatriot David Raya. Kepa has been the deputy in two Champions League-winning teams at Chelsea and Real Madrid, respectively, and Arsenal will hope he’s their new lucky charm.
Ansu Fati
- From: Barcelona
- To: Monaco
Ansu Fati showed promise on loan at Brighton in 2023/24 but played just 11 times for Barcelona last season. However, he’s by no means a busted flush and will now look to cash in on that considerable potential on loan at Monaco.
Paul Pogba
- From: Free agent
- To: Monaco
Staying in the Principality, they’re really not messing around, with Monaco bringing Paul Pogba back into professional football following his lengthy ban. Now 32, can he rediscover some of his old flame back in his native France?
Pogback Chapter Two begins.
Tammy Abraham
- From: Roma
- To: Besiktas
Injury has been cruel to Tammy Abraham in recent years, but there’s still a very capable striker in there. The England international has moved to Besiktas on loan from Roma, following a decent temporary spell at AC Milan. There will be big pressure to deliver as Besiktas look to overhaul Istanbul rivals Galatasaray for their first Super Lig title since 2021.
Youssoufa Moukoko
- From: Borussia Dortmund
- To: FC Copenhagen
Youssoufa Moukoko has all the tools to be an elite striker, but he just hasn’t quite managed to take off at Borussia Dortmund yet. However, he’s still only 20 years old and a loan north of the border with Danish giants FC Copenhagen might be the perfect springboard.
