The summer transfer market is heating up as teams intensify their efforts to strengthen their squads.
With August just around the corner and European leagues set to kick off in a matter of weeks, clubs are eager to secure those essential signings before the window closes.
From the Premier League to the MLS, Liga MX, and Brasileirão, we’re witnessing a flurry of activity, and there’s no sign of it slowing down.
Check out these 10 intriguing transfers that you might have missed over the past week—spoiler alert: Atlético Madrid is making waves everywhere.
Rodrigo de Paul
- From: Atlético Madrid
- To: Inter Miami
Lionel Messi has done it again. Another close friend, with whom he has played for some time in the Argentina national team, joins him at Inter Miami. After former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suárez made the move to Major League Soccer (MLS), Rodrigo de Paul has now followed suit at a much younger age.
At 31 years old, he is still in his prime but has decided it’s time to join forces with Messi to make Miami a title contender in the United States.
William Carvalho
- From: Real Betis
- To: Pachuca
Once a highly sought-after player during transfer windows for major European leagues, William Carvalho has now concluded his time on the continent and signed with Liga MX club Pachuca. At 33 years old, he recently recovered from a six-month hiatus due to an Achilles injury that sidelined him from September 2024 to March 2025.
Although Pachuca lost all three of their matches in the FIFA Club World Cup, they have started the Apertura league impressively, winning both of their opening games. Carvalho joins the team to strengthen their squad as they aim for their first title since late 2022.
Dávid Hancko
- From: Feyenoord
- To: Atlético Madrid
Atlético Madrid have been quite active in the transfer market, securing the signings of Thiago Almada, Johnny Cardoso, and former Feyenoord centre-back Dávid Hancko. The Slovakian international is embarking on his second stint in one of Europe’s top five leagues, having previously played for Fiorentina during the 2018-2019 season.
Christian Mosquera
- From: Valencia
- To: Arsenal
Arsenal’s primary focus this summer has been to acquire a striker, and they have successfully signed Viktor Gyökeres. However, they also made a smart addition by bringing in central defender Christian Mosquera from Valencia. At just 21 years old, the Spanish prospect has significant experience in top-flight football.
Mosquera made his professional debut at the age of 17 in 2022 and has played in 73 of Valencia’s 76 La Liga matches over the past two seasons.
Pervis Estupiñán
- From: Brighton
- To: AC Milan
Brighton gained a reputation for turning South American talent into substantial profits through strategic buying and selling. However, they experienced a rare setback with the sale of Pervis Estupiñán to AC Milan, resulting in a minor loss.
The Seagulls acquired the Ecuadorian defender for approximately £17.8 million in 2022 but sold him to the Italian club for £800,000 less. Milan, in need of a left-back following the departure of Theo Hernández to Saudi football, have now secured Estupiñán as his replacement.

Jeffrey Schlupp
- From: Crystal Palace
- To: Norwich City
It’s the end of an era for Jeffrey Schlupp at Crystal Palace, after being released following the end of his contract. The left-back joined the Eagles in January 2017 and spent over eight years in London.
He already looked to be out of their plans when joining Celtic on loan earlier this year, and has now signed a permanent deal with Norwich City ahead of the 2025-26 Championship season.
Jhon Arias
- From: Fluminense
- To: Wolves
A late bloomer, Jhon Arias was one of the standout players in the recent 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and has gotten his desired move to the Premier League. The Colombian has left Brazilian club Fluminense to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a four-year deal.
Arias spent most of his time in Brazil playing as a right winger, but he is also effective on the left side and can perform as an attacking midfielder. He is a solid addition to Wolves.
Saúl Ñíguez
- From: Atlético Madrid
- To: Flamengo
Saúl Ñíguez, another player recently released by Atlético Madrid, has officially joined Flamengo after spending last season on loan at Sevilla. At Sevilla, he faced challenges, and the record Europa League winners narrowly avoided relegation, signalling that his time at Atlético was likely over.
He arrives at the Brazilian giants as a versatile midfielder, similar to Gerson, who recently departed after performing well in the Club World Cup and transferred to the Russian club Zenit.
Evan Ferguson
- From: Brighton
- To: Roma
Evan Ferguson burst onto the scene in the Premier League as a mix of a talented youngster and a super sub for Brighton in 2022-23. Last season, he joined West Ham in search of more playing time, but ended up getting the opposite and struggled to find the same rhythm.
Now, he leaves England to become only the sixth-ever Irishman to play in Serie A after signing for Roma. His debut went as well as one could have possibly hoped, bagging four goals in a 9-0 win over UniPomezia.
Ashley Young
- From: Everton
- To: Ipswich Town
Ashley Young may be 40 years old, but he shows no signs of retiring anytime soon. After playing 32 matches for Everton in the Premier League last season, he has now joined Ipswich Town in their quest to return to the top flight.
The former winger, now a fullback, is making a return to the Championship after nearly two decades. His last appearance in the second tier was during the 2005-06 season, when he helped Watford secure promotion through the play-offs against Leeds. His experience and technical skills will be valuable assets for the Tractor Boys in the upcoming campaign.
