Premier League TOTW Gameweek 18: Man City match-winner Cherki makes the cut

After gameweek 18 of the 2025-26 Premier League season, we run through the Squawka Score Team of the Week.

Manchester City maintained their impressive run of form and have two players make the best XI, with Rayan Cherki the pick of the bunch for the Cityzens.

Leeds pair Jayden Bogle and Anton Stach make the cut as the Whites extended their unbeaten run to five games. Burnley, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Liverpool, Arsenal and Brentford are also represented in the XI.

GK: Martin Dubravka (Burnley)

  • Squawka score: 88%

Featuring between the sticks, Martin Dubravka was key as Burnley claimed a vital point in their bid to beat the drop. The Clarets shotstopper made six saves and prevented 1.26 goals as Scott Parker’s side played out a 0-0 draw with Everton.

Honourable mention: Caoimhin Kelleher (78%)

Brentford battered Bournemouth 4-1 on home turf, yet still required Caoimhin Kelleher to guarantee the three points. While he was unable to keep a clean sheet, the Bees star managed eight saves and completed 12 long balls in a solid showing.

RB: Jayden Bogle (Leeds)

  • Squawka score: 69%

Leeds maintained their resurgence under Daniel Farke as they played out a 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Sunday afternoon. Jayden Bogle put in a shift from right-back to make the Premier League team of the week as the Whites man won three aerial duels, managed two tackles and one interception.

Honourable mention: Matheus Nunes (68%)

Manchester City briefly returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Matheus Nunes again caught the eye at right-back as the Portugal international made three tackles and completed two take ons.

CB: Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace)

  • Squawka score: 70%

Crystal Palace may have fallen to a 1-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday evening, yet Maxence Lacroix was on hand to put in a solid showing at the back for the Eagles. Indeed, the Frenchman returned impressive hauls of nine clearances and a 93.48% retention rate to make the cut.

Honourable mention: Marc Guehi (70%)

Just missing out to Lacroix in the best XI is Palace teammate Marc Guehi. The England international chipped in with five clearances, and set the Eagles on the frontfoot having managed 15 passes into the final third.

CB: Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City)

  • Squawka score: 76%

Joining Lacroix at the heart of the defence is Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol. Not only did the Croat provide the assist for Rayan Cherki’s winner at Nottingham Forest, Gvardiol completed 15 passes into the final third, returned a retention rate of 93.91% and made eight clearances in a fine outing.

Honourable mention: Jean-Clair Todibo (69%)

While West Ham fell to another defeat, Jean-Clair Todibo did all he could to keep the Fulham offensive at bay. The Hammers man won four aerial duels, made four clearances and two tackles on Saturday afternoon.

LB: Antonee Robinson (Fulham)

  • Squawka score: 68%

Fulham claimed a third successive league win to pile further misery upon West Ham, with Antonee Robinson doing enough to nail down the left-back spot. The USMNT star managed three interceptions and two aerial wins in a clean-sheet attaining display.

Honourable mention: Gabriel Gudmunsson (66%)

Gabriel Gudmundsson played his part as Leeds claimed an important result against Sunderland. Gudmundsson made four clearances and completed two take ons to just miss out on a spot in the team.

CM: Rayan Cherki (Manchester City)

  • Squawka score: 80%

The star man from Manchester City’s 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest, Rayan Cherki is the second City representative in the XI. The France international followed up his assist for Tijjani Reijnders’ opener with a fine winner late on, those coming from respective returns of three chances created and two shots on target.

Honourable mention: Martin Odegaard (78%)

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard scored his first league goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Brighton. The Norway international won four duels against the Seagulls and returned a 100% take-on success rate on home turf.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)

  • Squawka score: 80%

Liverpool claimed a third successive league win at Wolves’ expense on Saturday, with Ryan Gravenberch shining in the middle of the park. The towering Dutchman worked hard off the ball as he made four interceptions and three tackles to keep the Wolves offensive at bay.

Honourable mention: Curtis Jones (77%)

Curtis Jones continued his good form in the Liverpool midfield with another stand out showing at the weekend. The Reds man won possession in the midfield third 10 times in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Wolves to justify his continued run in the team.

CM: Anton Stach (Leeds)

  • Squawka score: 80%

Rounding off the midfield is Anton Stach. The Leeds star won possession in the midfield third four times against Sunderland, and chipped in with an additional three tackles to join Cherki and Gravenberch in the side.

Honourable mention: Florian Wirtz (79%)

Florian Wirtz followed up his first Premier League assist at Tottenham last weekend with a first goal for the Reds on Saturday. Wirtz netted with his only shot on target, and won 11 duels in arguably his best performance in a Liverpool shirt.

RW: Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

  • Squawka score: 79%

Bukayo Saka registered just his second league assist of the season as the Arsenal wideman turned provider for captain Martin Odegaard on the way to the Gunners’ 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday. That assist came from one of four chances created, while Saka also made five ball recoveries to secure his spot in the side.

Honourable mention: Omari Hutchinson (75%)

Omari Hutchison scored his first Nottingham Forest goal in the Tricky Trees’ eventual 2-1 loss to Manchester City in Saturday’s lunchtime kick off. Hutchinson beat Gianluigi Donnarumma with his only shot on target and made six ball recoveries to just miss out on a spot in the side.

FW: Raul Jimenez (Fulham)

  • Squawka score: 78%

Leading the charge is Fulham hitman Raul Jimenez, who scored the only goal of the game as the Whites beat London rivals West Ham at the London Stadium. The Mexican struck his fourth league goal of the season in east London from one of five shots, and won three aerial duels to help Fulham to a third successive league win.

Honourable mention: Joao Pedro (71%)

Joao Pedro scored Chelsea’s opener in their eventual 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, though he didn’t know much about the goal having flicked in Reece James’ first half corner. Pedro managed three shots in total and seven touches in the opposition box in a commendable showing despite ending up on the losing side.

LW: Kevin Schade (Brentford)

  • Squawka score: 79%

Brentford hero Kevin Schade rounds off the XI after a superb showing in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Bournemouth. The German bagged a hat-trick against the Cherries, his trio of goals coming from five shots on target, while the Bees man won six aerial duels for Keith Andrews’ side.

Honourable mention: Antoine Semenyo (72%)

Missing out on a place in the Squawka Score Premier League Team of the Week is Bournemouth man Antoine Semenyo. On what may prove his penultimate Cherries showing, Semenyo netted his ninth league goal of the season, albeit in a 4-1 loss to Brentford. The Manchester City-bound winger also completed four take ons as he excelled despite defeat in west London.
