Tottenham Hotspur are 17th in the Premier League with two games left to play. They sit just two points clear of the relegation zone.
While their future is in their hands, there is a real risk of Tottenham being relegated from the Premier League.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men travel to face Chelsea in their next game, before ending the campaign at home to Everton.
Should Spurs suffer relegation, plenty of players will no doubt be looking for a move away to continue playing at the top level. And there would be plenty of interest of top clubs in England and abroad.
Who could Tottenham lose if they’re relegated?
Micky van de Ven
“He is technically good. His ability to cover ground, though, is just phenomenal mate.”
This quote from Ange Postecoglou perfectly encapsulates just why many teams would be interested in a centre-back like Micky van de Ven. He has the physical capacity to go man-for-man anywhere on the pitch, while also having the technical quality to deal with one-on-ones on the ball.

Van de Ven also has the ability to play as a wide centre-back utilising his carrying quality. Whether that be in a back three or as a left-back tucking inside to form a three on the ball. This is the sort of versatility plenty of top sides want to add.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are all reportedly interested in the 25-year-old. His skillset is likely to thrive in a ball-dominant side who look to press man-for-man and play a naturally higher line.

Lucas Bergvall/Archie Gray
Tottenham have two young midfielders who would be highly sought-after, both signed in the 2024-25 summer window. Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.
Gray joined from Leeds United as an 18-year-old for around £30million, with Joe Rodon going the other way for £10m.
Bergvall was signed from Swedish side Djurgarden at 18, for around £8.5m. Tottenham had to fend off interest from Barcelona at the time.

Both youngsters excel in different areas. Bergvall is a more dynamic No.8, attempting 2.24 take-ons per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season, with 1.4 completed. He also averages 0.24 through balls per 90, looking to carry the ball, engage defenders and make things happen.
Gray is more of a controller type, having also been used as an inverted full-back in his time at both Leeds and Tottenham. The 20-year-old makes more passes into the final third and contributes more off the ball, screening the defence as a No.8.
While both players will likely be tracked and tested by top clubs across Europe if Tottenham do go down, Gray could be willing to stay and fight if given assurances for the future. This could see Bergvall available at a slightly better price with more likelihood to push for the move.
Xavi Simons
Xavi Simons was a big signing last summer, joining from RB Leipzig having also been linked with a move to Chelsea.
The Dutchman has made 41 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing six assists. He provides a spark in attack, looking to drive and commit opposition defenders. He’s comfortable on the ball, operating in tight spaces, and has the quality to create for himself and others.

Simons averages 3.38 take-ons attempted per 90 in the league, completing 1.43 of those, while also creating 1.74 chances per 90.
The 23-year-old has the quality to operate as both a left-winger or an attacking midfielder. The central areas do suit Simons’ game more, as it allows him to manipulate defenders at one time with his tight space control. In wide areas, Simons can be slightly overrun, or bullied physically.
A lot ot teams currently operate with dynamic or high-flying full-backs. So Simons is a great option to play from the left and drift inside to play in that left half-space. He can get into good positions to combine with others, create chanes and get shots away from outside the box.
Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus is more of the more interesting cases. He’s missed the second-half of the season through injury, but still managed three goals and six assists in 26 games across all competitions.
The Ghanaian signed a six-year deal last summer, when making the £55m move across London from West Ham United. But that move was made so Kudus could compete at a higher level. He’d likely look to find a new club should Tottenham go down this season.

Kudus had interest from elsewhere before joining Tottenham. Chelsea were another team reportedly interested last summer, and also in 2023 before he joined West Ham. Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion were also touted to be interested while Kudus was still at Ajax.
The 25-year-old is perfectly suited to the Premier League. He has the pace and power to operate out wide, but can also shield and carry the ball inside, giving him positional versatility and key traits such as transition threat.
Kudus will also work hard off the ball. He presses with intensity and forces errors from opponents due to his speed and power. Many clubs would likely look at Kudus as a good opportunity for a fee lower than what Tottenham paid last summer.
