Premier League stats and records you might have missed from Gameweek 7

Arsenal soared to the summit of the Premier League, Liverpool sank to their third defeat in a row, and Everton ended Crystal Palace’s unbeaten run, in what proved to be a dramatic gameweek 7.

Here’s a standout stat you might have missed from each of the 10 top-flight matches.

Saka strikes a century

  • Bukayo Saka has been involved in 100 Premier League goals.

It proved to be a successful weekend for Arsenal, who leapfrogged Liverpool to go top of the Premier League table thanks to a 2-0 win over London rivals West Ham, who themselves have now lost a record 135 Premier League London derbies.

Bukayo Saka contributed his 100th Premier League goal contribution for Arsenal in his 200th Premier League appearance after he slotted home a second-half penalty to secure the spoils.

Saka, whose tally comprises 55 goals and 45 assists, is the seventh-youngest player to achieve this feat (aged 24 years and 29 days).

Remember the name

  • Estevao is the youngest Brazilian to score the winning goal in a Premier League game.

Estevao scored a dramatic 95th-minute winner to give Chelsea a 2-1 win at home to defending champions Liverpool, who suffered their third straight defeat in all competitions.

Aged just 18 years and 163 days old, Estevao became the youngest Brazilian ever to score a winning goal in the Premier League in what was a coming-of-age moment for the young star, whose late heroics could signal the beginning of a bright future in blue.

Woltemade joins elite company

  • Nick Woltemade became only the third Newcastle player to score in each of his first three Premier League home games.

Who needs Alexander Isak? While the former Newcastle striker is still seeking his first Liverpool league goal, his replacement at the Toon, Nick Woltemade, has enjoyed a fantastic start to life at St James’ Park.

On Saturday, Woltemade became just the third Newcastle player to score in each of his first three Premier League home games for the club after Les Ferdinand (1995) and Alan Shearer (1996).

Woltemade’s opener helped Newcastle claim a 2-0 win at home to Forest, meaning he now has four goals in his first six appearances for the Magpies in all competitions.

Guardiola leapfrogs Fergie

  • Pep Guardiola reaches 250 Premier League wins faster than any other manager.

While title talk has predominantly swayed between Arsenal and Liverpool, you’d be an absolute fool to rule out Man City, who are now three points off top spot.

City’s narrow 1-0 win at Brentford was Pep Guardiola’s 250th Premier League win as a manager, achieved in only his 349th game. In the process, the Spaniard jumped above Sir Alex Ferguson (404) as the fastest manager to reach this milestone.

“It’s an honour to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, I will invite them to a good dinner,” Guardiola said after making more history.

Rogers back on song

  • Morgan Rogers has recorded more open play assists (8) than any other Premier League player in 2025.

Aston Villa’s slow start to the season is now a thing of the past after the reinvigorated club recorded their fourth successive win in all competitions.

It’s now back-to-back league wins for Unai Emery’s side following victories over Fulham and Burnley, with Morgan Rogers registering an assist in each game, meaning he has now recorded more Premier League assists from open play (8) than any player in 2025.

Brighton’s own goal woes

  • Brighton have put the ball in their own net (12 times) more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues.

Brighton rescued a late draw away to rock-bottom Wolves thanks to an 86th-minute header from Bart Verbruggen, which got them a share of the spoils following Bart Verbruggen’s unlucky first-half own-goal.

Brighton have now put the ball in their own net more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues, with 12 own goals in the Premier League since the start of the 2022/23 season.

Man United stretch promoted-side streak

  • Manchester United are now unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League games against newly promoted sides.

Ruben Amorim eased the pressure – a tiny bit – after he oversaw a 2-0 win over Sunderland in his 50th game in charge of Manchester United.

United are now unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League games against newly promoted sides, of which they’ve won 22.

If only United could play a newly promoted side every week…

Spurs end pre-international break curse

  • Tottenham end seven game losing streak in games before an international break.

Tottenham fans had every reason to be nervous ahead of their trip to Elland Road. Not just because Leeds were unbeaten in their last 23 league games, but because Spurs had lost their previous seven matches heading into an international break.

But this time, history didn’t repeat itself.

Goals from Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus sealed a hard-fought 2-1 victory for Thomas Frank’s side, which ended Leeds’ home unbeaten run stretching back to last September.

More importantly for Spurs, it marked the first time since October 2023 that they entered an international break on the back of a win, finally putting an end to their bizarre pre-break hoodoo.

Superb Semenyo

  • Antoine Semenyo has the most Premier League goal involvements of any player since the start of May.

Antoine Semenyo bagged a brace and an assist to help Bournemouth come from behind to beat Fulham, meaning the Cherries head into the international break fourth in the table and just two points off leaders Arsenal.

Semenyo’s three goal involvements from the game means that the winger has now been directly involved in more Premier League goals (12) than any other player since the start of May.

Pickford joins the 300 Club

  • Jordan Pickford is just the second English goalkeeper to make 300+ Premier League appearances for a single club.

Everton came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Sunday, which was Palace’s first defeat in 20 games in all competitions.

Jordan Pickford made his 300th Premier League appearance for the Toffees to become only the second English goalkeeper to reach this milestone for a single club, following David Seaman for Arsenal (325).

On top of that, Pickford has made more Premier League appearances than anyone else (300) since his Premier League debut for Everton in August 2017.
