Another action-packed Premier League weekend saw Arsenal grab a dramatic late win at Newcastle and in-form Crystal Palace stretch their impressive unbeaten run to 18 games across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Saturday marked the first time since 1994 that Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea all suffered Premier League defeats on the same day.
Here’s a look at some of the key stats you might have missed from Gameweek 6.
The stats you might have missed
Arsenal the corner kings
- Arsenal (36) have scored 15 more goals from corners than any Premier League since the start of the 2023/24 season.
Arsenal have turned set pieces into a serious weapon, having scored 36 goals from corners since the start of the 2023/24 season, which is remarkably 15 more than any other Premier League side in that time.
Their latest corner triumph came in dramatic fashion at St James’ Park, where the Gunners snatched a 2-1 win over Newcastle. Mikel Merino equalised in the 84th minute, then Gabriel headed home the winner deep into stoppage time, with both goals coming directly from corners.
The result moved Mikel Arteta’s side to within two points of league leaders Liverpool and reinforced their reputation as the Premier League’s most dangerous team from dead-ball situations.
Penalty pain for Fernandes
- No player has missed more Premier League penalties than Bruno Fernandes (six) since he made his Man United debut.
Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes had a golden chance to draw level against Brentford from the penalty spot, but failed to convert, with his effort saved by Caoimhin Kelleher, who has now saved four of the last seven penalties he’s faced.
Brentford capitalised soon after, as they added a third goal to seal a 3-1 victory and pile more pressure on Ruben Amorim, who is still searching for back-to-back league wins since taking charge last November.
It was Fernandes’ second penalty miss of the season following a skied attempt against Fulham last month. The miserable miss now takes his tally to six failed spot-kicks since joining United, more than any other Premier League player in that time.

Haaland smashes another record
- Erling Haaland has usurped Ole Gunnar Solskjær as the highest-scoring Norwegian in Premier League history.
Erling Haaland has officially overtaken Ole Gunnar Solskjær to become the highest-scoring Norwegian in Premier League history. The Manchester City striker netted twice in stoppage time to cap off a 5-1 win over Burnley, taking his league tally to 93 goals in just 103 appearances.
Haaland’s form this season has been nothing short of phenomenal. He’s scored 15 goals in just nine games for club and country, including eight in the Premier League, which is already double that of his closest challengers.

Double trouble for Esteve
- Maxime Esteve is just the third player to score two Premier League own goals in one match in the last 10 seasons.
Scoring one own goal is unlucky, but netting two in the same match is downright cruel. That’s exactly what happened to Maxime Esteve during the aformentioned game at the Etihad.
The defender’s first mishap came in the 12th minute, when a misjudged clearance ended up in his own net. His second came just after the hour mark, when he converted a cross past the keeper.
In doing so, Esteve became only the third player in the last 10 Premier League seasons to score two own goals in a single match, joining Wout Faes and Craig Dawson on that unwanted list.

Eagles soar to new heights
- Crystal Palace equal club record run of 18 matches in all competitions.
Crystal Palace not only ended Liverpool’s perfect start to the Premier League season with a dramatic 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park, but also matched a club record by extending their unbeaten run to 18 games in all competitions.
The Eagles looked to have been denied a deserved win when Federico Chiesa equalised in the 87th minute, but Eddie Nketiah struck in the 97th to snatch all three points, lifting Palace up to third in the table.

Bournemouth off to a flyer
- Bournemouth have enjoyed their best-ever start to a Premier League season with 11 points from six games.
Bournemouth are thriving under Andoni Iraola despite a summer exodus that saw key players like Ilya Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Dango Ouattara depart.
The Cherries grabbed a late equaliser at Elland Road to secure a valuable point, which propelled their tally to 11 after six games; their best-ever start to a Premier League season.
Currently sitting 6th in the table, above both Man City and Chelsea, Bournemouth are unbeaten in five matches since their opening-day loss to Liverpool.
Rogers the provider
- Morgan Rogers is now tied with Eberechi Eze and Anthony Elanga for the most Premier League assists in 2025.
Aston Villa finally picked up their first win of the season at the sixth time of asking after they came from behind to beat Fulham 3-1. Despite falling behind to a third-minute header from Raul Jimenez, Villa responded with goals from Ollie Watkins, John McGinn, and substitute Emi Buendia.
Morgan Rogers set up the third, marking his first goal involvement of the campaign. It’s been a frustratingly slow start for the winger, who racked up 30 goals and assists in all competitions last season, but that much-needed assist puts him level with the most assists by any Premier League player in 2025 so far.
Brilliant Bueno
- Santiago Bueno made 8 tackles for Wolves against Tottenham, the most by a player in a Premier League game this season.
Santiago Bueno delivered a standout display against Tottenham on Saturday night. The defender not only scored his first Premier League goal, but also dominated across the pitch: winning the most duels (12), making the most interceptions (3), and recording the most touches in the opposition box.
To top it off, his eight tackles were the most by any player in a single Premier League match this season.
Sunderland break first-half drought
- Sunderland finally score first first-half goal of the season.
Sunderland, briefly, climbed as high as third in the table after securing a 1-0 win away at Nottingham Forest, courtesy of a first-half header from Omar Alderete.
Alderete’s strike was Sunderland’s first goal before half-time in the Premier League this season and their first in the opening 45 minutes of a top-flight match since Javier Manquillo’s third-minute effort against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in May 2017.

Caicedo the constant in Chelsea’s chaos
- Moises Caicedo has made the most interceptions in Europe’s top-5 leagues in 2025/26.
Chelsea slumped to a frustrating 3-1 home defeat to Brighton, extending their poor run to just one win in their last five matches in all competitions – and that was against Lincoln.
Moises Caicedo continues to impress despite the team’s inconsistency under Enzo Maresca. The midfielder leads all players across Europe’s top five league for interceptions (17) this season, proving to be a rare bright spot in an otherwise shaky start for the underperforming Blues.
