Another dramatic weekend of Premier League action served up milestones, meltdowns, and moments of magic across the 10 matches.
From the season’s fastest goal to the end of a year-long assist drought, here are the key stats and storylines you might have missed from Gameweek 13.

Double delight for Foden
- Phil Foden moves past David Beckham and Yaya Toure in the Premier League goalscoring charts.
Manchester City left it late to spare their blushes as they sneaked past Leeds 3-2 at the Etihad. Erling Haaland failed to find the back of a net, but his teammate Phil Foden delivered, scoring both the opener and the decisive winner.
Foden’s brace lifted his tally to 64 Premier League goals, moving him clear of David Beckham and Yaya Toure (both on 62). He is now level with Bruno Fernandes and Mark Hughes, and sits just one goal behind Daniel Sturridge in the all-time charts.
Thiagoal creates history
- Igor Thiago has now scored 11 goals in 13 Premier League goals – a club record.
Igor Thiago simply can’t stop scoring, bagging another two goals in Brentford’s 3-1 late defeat of Burnley.
The striker has emerged as a legitimate contender to Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot with his new tally of 11 goals in 13 games the earliest that a Brentford player has reached double figures in Premier League history.
Black Cats bite back
- Sunderland have already equalled their win tally from their last Premier League season.
Sunderland produced one of the comebacks of the season, overturning a two-goal deficit inside the opening 15 minutes to beat Bournemouth 3–2 and climb to sixth in the table.
The victory was Sunderland’s sixth of the campaign, meaning they have already matched their total number of wins from the entire 2016/17 Premier League season.
Lightning strikes on Merseyside
- Malick Thiaw has scored the fastest goal of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Newcastle claimed their first away win of the season in emphatic fashion, dismantling Everton 4-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Toon exploded out of the blocks, taking the lead after just 52 seconds when Malick Thiaw powered in a header, which is the fastest Premier League goal of the season so far. Thiaw wasn’t done there, going on to bag a brace as Newcastle ran riot on Merseyside.
Frankly not good enough
- Tottenham have lost 10 home league games in a single calendar year for the first time since 2003.
Tottenham’s struggles on home soil hit a new low as their 2-1 defeat to Fulham – a side that had collected just one point on the road prior – marked their 10th home league loss in a single calendar year, a slump they haven’t experienced since 2003. Spurs have managed only 12 points from a possible 48 at home during this period.
As a result, the pressure is mounting on Thomas Frank, whose odds to become the next Premier League manager to be sacked have been slashed to 4/1 after suffering a third straight defeat in all competitions.
Captain fantastic
- Bruno Fernandes now has more Premier League assists than Paul Scholes.
Manchester United came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park as they ended their three game winlless run and secured only their fourth Premier League victory in London from their last 27 attempts.
Captain Bruno Fernandes set-up both goals – finished by Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount – to propel his Premier League assist total to 56, which moved him past club icon Paul Scholes (55).
Fernandes still has a climb ahead of him to break into United’s all-time top three, currently led by Ryan Giggs (162), Wayne Rooney (93), and David Beckham (80).
No Salah, no problem
- No Liverpool player has scored more goals (4) or provided more assists (3) than Cody Gakpo in the Premier League this season.
Arne Slot made a bold call by leaving Mo Salah on the bench for Liverpool’s trip to West Ham; so bold that the Egyptian didn’t feature at all. Yet the Reds, beaten in nine of their previous 12 matches across all competitions, coped without him as they secured a much-needed 2-0 victory at the London Stadium.
Cody Gakpo shone for the visitors, setting up Alexander Isak’s opener before netting a late second. No Liverpool has more goals (4) or assists (3) than Cody Gakpo in the Premier League so far this season.
Seagulls’ shot frenzy
- Brighton accumulate the most shots ever inside the opening 20 minutes of a Premier League game.
Brighton returned to the City Ground for the first time since their horrific 7-0 defeat. This time they showed up and claimed a devsered 2-0 win.
Brighton burst out of the gates, intent on making up for last season’s horror show. In the opening 20 minutes alone they dominated possession with 65% of the ball and fired off a whopping nine shots – the most any team has recorded in the first 20 minutes of a Premier League match.
Somehow they didn’t score during this period of play, but they weren’t left to rue their missed chances, netting on the cusp of half-time and then they secured the spoils late on.
Still winless Wolves
- Wolves equal longest ever Premier League winless run.
Wolves’ miserable start to the season continued as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat away to Midlands rivals Aston Villa, which extended their winless start to the season to 13 league games. With just two points collected so far, they already sit nine points adrift of safety.
Adding to their woes, Wolves, who picked up only one point from their final four matches last season, have now matched their longest-ever Premier League winless streak of 17 games.
Saka ends drought
- Bukayo Saka registered his first Premier League assist in a year.
Arsenal missed the chance to capitalise on their numerical advantage as they were held to a 1–1 draw at Chelsea. Despite being reduced to 10 men, the Blues struck first in the 48th minute, but Mikel Merino equalised nine minutes later after he headed in from a pinpoint Bukayo Saka delivery.
Remarkably, the assist was Saka’s first in the Premier League in exactly a year, with his last coming on the same date in 2024 when he registered two assists and a goal in a 5-2 win over West Ham.
