Premier League stats and records you might have missed from Gameweek 11

Arsenal’s winning streak was ended by Sunderland, a Jeremy Doku-inspired Man City swatted aside Liverpool, and David Moyes joined an elite managerial group in what proved to be an action-packed weekend of Premier League football.

Read on for our 10 favourite stats you might have missed from gameweek 11.

From chaos to consistency

  • Manchester United are now five Premier League matches unbeaten for the first time under Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United’s 2-2 draw away to Tottenham was a rollercoaster affair. United led from the 32nd minute until the 84th, only to find themselves 2-1 down come the first minute of injury-time, before Matthijs de Ligt rescued a point with a 96th minute header.

The result extends Amorim’s unbeaten streak to five league games, during which United have collected 11 points. The Red Devils now sit 7th in the table, just one point adrift of the top four – a clear sign that momentum is – finally – building under the Portuguese coach, who not so long ago was the favourite for the sack.

Hammers back on track

  • West Ham win back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since February.

West Ham’s season has been far from smooth, but there are now clear signs of progress under Nuno Espirito Santo, who took over from Graham Potter in late September.

The Portuguese boss has guided the Hammers to consecutive league victories for the first time since February, following home wins over Newcastle (3-1) and Burnley (3-2) – results that have more than doubled their points tally to 10.

While the club’s owners continue to feel the wrath of the Hammers faithful, Nuno’s experience will prove crucial in West Ham’s bid to escape the clutches of the relegation zone.

Boss level 20

  • David Moyes has become only the third manager to win 20+ games against a single opponent in the Premier League.

Everton ended their three-game winless streak with a convincing 2-0 victory over Fulham at Goodison Park, courtesy of goals from Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane.

The result marked Moyes’ 20th career win over Fulham in the Premier League, placing him in an exclusive group alongside managerial legends Sir Alex Ferguson – who 1on 20+ games against eight clubs – and Arsene Wenger, who managed it against four.

Brilliant Ballard

  • Dan Ballard became the first player to score against Arsenal in 812 minutes.

Sunderland have emerged as this season’s biggest surprise package, sitting 4th in the Premier League with 19 points from their opening 11 games.

Over the weekend, they secured a dramatic late draw against title favourites Arsenal, netting twice against a team that had won their previous 10 matches and kept clean sheets in their last eight.

Dan Ballard’s opening goal of the game marked the first time Arsenal had conceded in an astonishing 812 minutes across all competitions.

Maresca’s W-inning streak

  • Enzo Maresca has faced teams whose first name begins with ‘W’ on 11 occasions in English football – and won them all.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca extended his rather niche record to 11 wins from 11 matches against clubs beginning with W in English football after the Blues toppled sorry Wolves 3-0 over the weekend.

The Italian boss has now won all 11 English football matches against teams whose names start with the letter ‘W’. This flawless streak includes four wins against Wolves, three against West Ham, and two each versus Watford and West Brom.

Dyche delight

  • Sean Dyche has already won more matches in charge of Nottingham Forest this season than his two predecessors combined.

Nottingham Forest claimed a much-needed 3-1 win at home to Leeds, which was their first Premier League victory under Sean Dyche.

Dyche has now overseen two wins, two draws, and just the one defeat from his opening five matches, overseeing a marked improvement to the seven defeats, three draws, and one win that came before him.

In fact, Dyche has already recorded more victories in all competitions (2) than Ange Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo managed together (1).

Mitchell masterclass

  • Tyrick Mitchell is the first player to win possession 12 times and win 12+ duels in a game this season.

Crystal Palace and Brighton played out a goalless stalemate at Selhurst Park, with neither side able to break the deadlock.

The standout performer for the hosts was Tyrick Mitchell, who delivered a defensive masterclass, as he became the first player this Premier League season to win possession 12 or more times and win 12+ duels in a single game.

The full-back was instrumental in nullifying Brighton’s attacking threats, showcasing both his defensive awareness and tenacity. Mitchell will feel hard done by to be included in the England squad for November’s international break.

Brentford’s secret weapon

  • Brentford are the first club to score six Premier League home goals from throw ins in a calendar year since Stoke City in 2008.

Brentford came from behind to beat Newcastle 3-1 on Sunday as they secured their five win in their last seven league and cup games.

Many tipped the Bees for relegation after they lost their manager and three star players in the summer, but new boss Keith Andrews has enjoyed a bright start to the season, during which he has utilised throw-ins as a key weapon in Brentford’s armoury.

Brentford’s equaliser against Newcastle came directly from a throw-in as they became the first club since Stoke City in 2008 to score six Premier League home goals from throw-ins in a single calendar year.

Villa‘s thunderbolts

  • Aston Villa are the fourth club in Premier League history to score five straight goals outside of the penalty box.

Aston Villa are on a superb run right now, climbing to 6th in the Premier League after winning five of their last six games.

During this streak, Villa have defeated top sides including Manchester City, Tottenham, and most recently Bournemouth. What’s made their performance even more eye-catching is the manner of their goals – the last five have all been scored from outside the penalty box.

Dazzling Doku

  • Jeremy Doku is the first player to accumulate 100 take-ons in the Premier League in 2025.

Jeremy Doku was simply electric in Manchester City’s 3-0 demolition of Liverpool, tormenting the visitors with his pace and panache. His deserved goal capped off a stellar display, earning him immediate praise, including being named man of the match by Gary Neville after just an hour of play.

Doku has now become the first player in 2025 to reach 100 take-ons in the Premier League. He also became the first player since fellow Belgian Eden Hazard in 2019 to simultaneously attempt 10+ take-ons, win 10+ duels, create 3+ chances, and register 3+ shots on target in a single game.
