Who was the best winger in the Premier League in 2025-26?
A Premier League winger nowadays is expected to carry out a number of duties. Previously, the primary task of a wide man would have been to get to the byline and put the ball into the box. But they now also need to provide for teammates, offer goals themselves and work hard out of possession in order to force turnovers in dangerous positions.
We’ve used our Squawka Score to pick out the best 10 wingers in 2025-26, among players with at least 1,710 minutes played in the Premier League — that’s 50% of this campaign. Our rating system takes into account a variety of statistical categories, both defensive and offensive.
Jeremy Doku won the race, with Bukayo Saka the only other player with a Squawka Score of 70%+.

What are Squawka’s ratings based on?
We used Twenty3 Sport’s Discovery Tool to run a customised search. The Discovery Tool rates a player’s per 90 output in the metrics detailed below to produce a percentage score, referred to above as the Squawka Score.
Each player’s stats are compared to the average output of goalkeepers across the past three seasons of big-five European league football. The higher the score, the closer they rank to the 95th percentile and above for each metric.
