As mentioned, the Galaxy are the most successful club in MLS Cup history. Their six titles leave them two clear of their nearest rivals, DC United, while they’re one of just seven sides to win it more than once. The New England Revolution have finished runner-up five times without ever winning the title, losing five of the 13 finals between 2002 and 2014.

While the Galaxy are the giants of MLS Cup, they’re second to the New York Red Bulls in terms of Playoff appearances. The likes of Sporting KC, FC Dallas and New England Revolution have also seen plenty of post-season action, though have struggled for consistency more recently. Orlando City are currently enjoying a five-year run in the Playoffs having previously never made it.

While MLS Cup is the ultimate crown, the leader of the regular season also wins the prestigious Supporters’ Shield title. Once again, LA Galaxy and DC United are the top dogs here with four wins apiece.

Only on eight occasions has the shield winner gone on to win MLS Cup, with LAFC the most recent to complete the double in 2022.
