Every Premier League club ranked by their current trophy drought

The 2025-26 club season is over and the winners’ medals have been handed out.

It was another season of trophy droughts ending, albeit not as much of a fairytale as the 2024-25 campaign. Newcastle United had ended a 70-year major trophy drought in lifting the Carabao Cup, while Crystal Palace won the FA Cup — their first-ever major trophy. Tottenham Hotspur ahd also won the Europa League, their first trophy since 2008.

Palace weren’t just happy with the FA Cup though. A year later, the Eagles lifted their first-ever European trophy, winning the Uefa Conference League in their maiden campaign. Arsenal also ended a six-year drought, finally lifting the Premier League title after going close in recent seasons. And Manchester City took both of the domestic cups.

But there are still some massive clubs enduring quite a barren spell. So, with that in mind, we’ve ranked every 2025-26 Premier League club by their current major trophy drought.

To clarify, a major trophy includes the Premier League, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, as well as the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

Here’s how they rank, from the most recent winners to the sides still waiting to break their duck.

1. Crystal Palace

  • Last trophy won: Uefa Conference League
  • Year: 2026
  • Trophy drought: 6 days

Like London buses. You wait 165 years for a major trophy, then two come in quick succession. Crystal Palace had two FA Cup runners-up medals in their trophy cabinet before finally winning the competition in 2025 — their first-ever major trophy. It secured them European football, albeit the Conference League due to off-field controversies. And they only went and won that! The Eagles beat Rayo Vallecano in the final, lifting European silverware for the first time. Fans will no doubt be expecting the Europa League and Premier League double in 2027!

2. Arsenal

  • Last trophy won: Premier League
  • Year: 2026
  • Trophy drought: 9 days

Arsenal ended an almost six-year trophy drought by finally clinching the Premier League title. However, this is much more significant than ending a six-year trophy drought, as it ends a run of three straight runner-up finishes, and a whopping 22-year wait for a league title — an unacceptable length of time for the now-14-time English champions. Mikel Arteta’s men had to wait until the final day of the campaign to lift the trophy, marking the official end to their drought.

3. Aston Villa

  • Last trophy won: Europa League
  • Year: 2026
  • Trophy drought: 13 days

What a moment this was. Aston Villa had gone over 30 years without a trophy, last lifting the EFL Cup in 1996. But Unai Emery’s men had an excellent Europa League campaign, culminating with their success in the final. Youri Tielemans, Emiliano Buendia and Morgan Rogers were the heroes on the night, joining 1982 European Cup final goalscorer Peter Withe as trophy-winners.

4. Man City

  • Last trophy won: FA Cup
  • Year: 2026
  • Trophy drought: 17 days

Man City may have lost the 2025 FA Cup final, but they have won their next three trips to Wembley. That includes two finals, in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal of the FA Cup final against Chelsea, taking Man City to eight successes in the competition.

5. Chelsea

  • Last trophy won: Uefa Conference League
  • Year: 2025
  • Trophy drought: 1 year, 0 months, 5 days

Chelsea had lost their fair share of finals in recent years, but a four-year drought finally came to an end when the Blues lifted the Uefa Conference League. Enzo Maresca’s side had to come from a goal down before sealing their 4-1 win, but it saw them complete the European set. Chelsea are the first team to win the Champions League, Europa League, Cup Winners’ Cup and Conference League.

6. Liverpool

  • Last trophy won: Premier League
  • Year: 2025
  • Trophy drought: 1 year, 0 months, 8 days

In the end, Liverpool ran away with the Premier League title, winning it comfortably in Arne Slot’s first year as Reds manager. Confirmation came with four games to spare after they ran out 5-1 winners over Tottenham. They did have to wait until the final game of the season to lift the trophy though, officially ending the drought on that day.

6. Tottenham

  • Last trophy won: Europa League
  • Year: 2025
  • Trophy drought: 1 year, 0 months, 12 days

Ange Postecoglou did tell you. He always wins in his second season at a club. It didn’t look like it was going to happen, after a disastrous domestic campaign. But Tottenham did lift a trophy in 2025, winning the Europa League to end a 17-year wait. Not that it kept Postecoglou in a job, though.

7. Newcastle

  • Last trophy won: Carabao Cup
  • Year: 2025
  • Trophy drought: 1 year, 2 months, 17 days

Eddie Howe’s men had the chance to end their trophy drought in 2023, also in the Carabao Cup final. They suffered defeat then, but didn’t have to wait too long for a second chance. Up against Liverpool, Newcastle were the slight underdogs going into the game but they outplayed the Reds and were well-deserving of their triumph. Fans will be hoping there’s not another 70-year wait for the next trophy…

8. Man Utd

  • Last trophy won: FA Cup
  • Year: 2024
  • Trophy drought: 2 years, 0 months, 38 days

Erik ten Hag received a lot of criticism for his time as Manchester United manager. But the Dutchman did win a trophy in each of his two full seasons at Old Trafford. His final trophy, in what was expected to be his final game, was the FA Cup at the end of the 2024-25 season. The Red Devils beat rivals Man City at Wembley, having lost the FA Cup final to the same opponents a year earlier.

9. West Ham

  • Last trophy won: Uefa Conference League
  • Year: 2023
  • Trophy drought: 2 years, 11 months, 26 days

Jarrod Bowen’s 90th-minute strike against Fiorentina ended West Ham United’s 43-year wait for a major trophy. They became just the second side after Roma to win the Europa Conference League, earning each player a place in the history books.

11. Everton

  • Last trophy won: FA Cup
  • Year: 1995
  • Trophy drought: 31 years, 0 months, 13 days

Despite making their worst-ever start to a league season and fighting relegation, Everton ended the 1994-95 season with silverware, as they beat Man Utd 1-0 at Wembley to win the FA Cup. Paul Rideout was the hero in a 1-0 win; their fifth major trophy in an 11-year period but, sadly, their last to date.

12. Leeds

  • Last trophy won: First Division
  • Year: 1992
  • Trophy drought: 34 years, 1 month, 7 days

Leeds were the defending champions for the first season of the brand new Premier League in 1992-93. The Whites had won the final season of the First Division in its guise, finishing five points clear of Man Utd at the top of the table. They’ve had a chance to win a trophy since, losing in the 1995-96 Coca Cola Cup final to Aston Villa.

13. Nottingham Forest

  • Last trophy won: League Cup
  • Year: 1990
  • Trophy drought: 36 years, 1 month, 4 days

The late, great, Brian Clough won his 12th and final trophy of his time at Nottingham Forest, as the Tricky Trees won the Football League Cup for the fourth time in the previous 13 seasons. There were dreams of ending the streak, but Forest were beaten in the FA Cup semi-finals in 2024-25.

14. Wolves

  • Last trophy won: League Cup
  • Year: 1980
  • Trophy drought: 46 years, 2 months, 18 days

Wolverhampton Wanderers saw off the holders and the European champions at the time Nottingham Forest, to lift the League Cup for just the second time in their history, after also taking home the trophy in 1974.

15. Sunderland

  • Last trophy won: FA Cup
  • Year: 1973
  • Trophy drought: 53 years, 0 months, 28 days

It’s been over 50 years since Sunderland fans last celebrated a major trophy, lifting the FA Cup in 1973. The Black Cats beat Leeds in the final thanks to a goal from Ian Porterfield, having gone into the match as underdogs. Sunderland did lose the Capital One Cup Final to Man City in 2014, having taken the lead.

16. Burnley

  • Last trophy won: First Division
  • Year: 1960
  • Trophy drought: 66 years, 1 month, 0 days

The 1959-60 First Division was won on the final day of the season, with Burnley lifting the trophy. They finished on point clear of defending champions Wolves, to claim their third major trophy. But the Clarets have been stuck on three since, and haven’t reached a major cup final since 1962.

17. Brighton

  • Last trophy won: N/A
  • Year: N/A
  • Trophy drought: 124 years

Brighton and Hove Albion finished as runners-up in the 1983 FA Cup final, the only major domestic cup final of their history.

18. Bournemouth

  • Last trophy won: N/A
  • Year: N/A
  • Trophy drought: 126 years

Bournemouth rose from the third division to the Premier League, but are yet to win a major trophy. They reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in 2024-25 but could not make it to Wembley.

19. Brentford

  • Last trophy won: N/A
  • Year: N/A
  • Trophy drought: 136 years

Brentford have never made the final of a major domestic competition.

20. Fulham

  • Last trophy won: N/A
  • Year: N/A
  • Trophy drought: 146 years

Fulham made it all the way to the Europa League final back in 2010, but a Diego Forlan strike in extra time broke their hearts as Atletico Madrid took home the trophy.
