The summer transfer deadline has passed and it was one of the most explosive windows in recent memory, with Premier League clubs spending in excess of €3bn.
There were huge transfers made by a number of clubs, with Liverpool breaking the British transfer record twice through the signings of Florian Wirtz then Alexander Isak. The Reds also spent the most money in a single window by a Premier League side, while Chelsea broke the record for the money received in a single window by a top flight side.

Top clubs ranked by squad value
1. Arsenal
Total squad value: €1.33bn
Highest value player: Bukayo Saka (€150m)
Arsenal top the table when it comes to squad value, a position they won’t be too familiar with after finishing second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons. There is plenty of value within their squad, with both Saka and Declan Rice having a value of greater than €100m.
2. Man City
Total squad value: €1.24bn
Highest value player: Erling Haaland (€180m)
Man City come in next, with another squad total topping €1bn. They have three players with a value of €100m or more — Haaland, Rodri and Phil Foden. The signings of TIjjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Gianluigi Donnarumma also help boost their ranking up the table.
3. Liverpool
Total squad value: €1.12bn
Highest value player: Florian Wirtz (€140m)
It’s no surprise to see Liverpool feature so prominently in the table after their sensational summer of spending. Wirtz joined the club for a British record fee, before the Reds broke their own record by bringing in Alexander Isak. Liverpool are the second club to feature in this list that have three players worth over €100m.
4. Chelsea
Total squad value: €1.08bn
Highest value player: Cole Palmer (€120m)
Much has been made of Chelsea’s spending over the past few years so it’s no surprise to see them break the €1bn barrier. Despite this they only have one player worth €100m or more, in Cole Palmer, although they do have plenty of players who come close.
5. Tottenham
Total squad value: €891.10m
Highest value player: Xavi Simons (€70m)
Our first club not to feature a player worth €100m or more, Tottenham have seen their stock rise in terms of player value this summer with the signing of Simons and Mohammed Kudus. Their defensive partnership of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven combine for a value of €100m, making them one of the most valuable central defensive pairings in the league.
6. Man Utd
Total squad value: €748.20m
Highest value player: Benjamin Sesko (€70m)
There have been a number of outgoings at Old Trafford this summer, decreasing the value of their squad by quite a sum. Despite this their three summer attacking recruits, Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, combine for a total value of €185m, with the Red Devils showcasing an expensive frontline despite losing the likes of Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.
7. Newcastle
Total squad value: €659.05m
Highest value player: Bruno Guimaraes (€80m)
One of the richest clubs in the world, Newcastle are right up there in terms of squad value, totalling over €650m. Bruno Guimaraes represents their highest value player, with new strike partnership Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade combining for a TransferMarkt value of over €60m.
