Champions League semi-finals: When are they and who is playing?
The 2021/22 Champions League semi-finals are now set.
Those expecting another nail-biting draw in Nyon will have to wait until next season as Pedro Pinto and the gang have already determined the semi-final route.
When the quarter-finals were drawn, the penultimate round followed shortly after, so the fates of those who progressed this week were already decided.
How did the quarter-finals finish?
- Liverpool beat Benfica 6-4 on aggregate
- Villarreal beat Bayern Munich 2-1 on aggregate
- Manchester City beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 on aggregate
- Real Madrid beat Chelsea 5-4 on aggregate
How do the Champions League semi-finals shape up?
When the balls were drawn in Switzerland one of the post-pot talking points centred on the possibility of a Liverpool vs Manchester City final, and that is because the Premier League title hopefuls were drawn into separate paths. Both sides have made the semi-finals and will fancy their chances of making it to the final, although their La Liga opponents will have something to say about that.
- Man City vs Real Madrid (26th April | 3rd May)
- Liverpool vs Villarreal (27th April | 4th May)
The first legs are scheduled for April 26 and 27, while the second legs will be played out on May 3 and 4.
