Defenders – Riccardo Calafiori Over 1.5 fouls committed
To kick off our Bet Builder for Newcastle vs Arsenal, we have examined four defenders who are likely to start on Sunday and compared some of their key metrics. The betting market we have related this to is the ever-popular ‘fouls committed’ market.
Obviously, we are dealing with a relatively small sample size this term, with just five matches played in the Premier League so far but it’s clear to see that Riccardo Calafiori is the standout player when it comes to committing fouls, this season.
Of the four players mentioned above in the Comparison Matrix, Calafiori (8) has given away the most fouls this term. Compare this to Tino Livramento, who plays in a similar position, who has given away just three fouls in the same amount of games. Calafiori has also been booked twice, highlighting that the fouls he’s given away have been cynical enough to warrant a booking.
Midfielders – Declan Rice Over 0.5 Assists
Declan Rice has hit the ground running this season, being given the freedom to get forward a bit more and the results have been superb. Rice has created six chances and provided one assist, in five games.
This weekend against Newcastle, his influence could be decisive. Rice’s ability from set pieces has been important for Arsenal over the past couple of seasons and he’ll be a danger this weekend, especially from corners, where Arsenal excel.
On the Comparison Matrix, we can see that Rice has a higher passing accuracy than Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes and Bukayo Saka, and is the only one of the four to provide an assist this season. With this in mind, it’s surprising to see that Rice is such a big price (6/1) to provide an assist this weekend.

Forwards – Viktor Gyokeres Over 0.5 Shots on Target
Rounding off our 16/1 Bet Builder for Sunday’s encounter is a selection from the shots on target market. Both Nick Woltemade and Viktor Gyokeres are new, big money signings for their clubs this summer and both have opened their accounts for their new clubs.
When looking at the odds on offer in the shots on target market, Gyokeres is priced at 4/11 to have a shot on target and this boosts your bet builder odds from 12/1 for the double to 16/1 for our Comparison Matrix backed treble.
The Swedish striker has managed three goals from his only three shots on target this season, with his ability to adapt as Arsenal’s new number nine has started swimmingly. Woltemade also holds a 100% record when it comes to converting shots on target into goals but has managed just one of each, although he has played 150 minutes less than his counterpart.
