With just eight games left to play, Arsenal are three points clear at the top of the Premier League table and the title is still in their hands. For some, Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend handed Manchester City the control, as Pep Guardiola’s side face the Gunners soon.

But Arsenal know all they need to do is get back to winning ways and later avoid defeat to Man City to keep hold of the title race as they look to win the Premier League for the first time since 2003/04. Arsenal are unbeaten in eight games since losing to Manchester City in February, with the draw against Liverpool last weekend ending a seven-match winning streak.

Things aren’t going as well for West Ham in the Premier League and, despite sitting 15th in the table right now, the Hammers are very much in the relegation battle. David Moyes’ side are just three points clear of the drop zone, having jumped up the table thanks to their 1-0 win over Fulham last weekend.

The victory was West Ham’s third win in their past six Premier League games but Moyes is still under a lot of pressure and it feels like any defeat could bring an end to his stay at the London Stadium. Nonetheless, West Ham do also have eyes elsewhere, still in the Europa Conference League and will come into this game off the back of a tough quarter-final first leg against Gent on Thursday.

West Ham vs Arsenal match stats

Bukayo Saka gets a lot of the attention at Arsenal right now, and for good reason, but Gabriel Martinelli has been just as important in recent weeks. Filling in for the injured Eddie Nketiah up front, Martinelli has found himself among the goals once more, and he has a good record against West Ham. The Brazilian has been involved in four goals in his four Premier League starts against the Hammers, scoring three and recording one assist.

Perhaps surprisingly, Arsenal are the more frequently carded of these two sides in the Premier League this season. The Gunners have averaged 1.47 yellow cards per game in the Premier League so far, to West Ham’s 1.24. Saka is the most-carded Arsenal player with six yellows so far, ahead of Ben White and Granit Xhaka on five.
