Arsenal vs Tottenham: Predictions
For Arsenal, qualification for European football through the league may appear to be a distant dream, with the Gunners 12 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with 11 games left to play. However, they have put themselves in a good position in the Europa League, beating Olympiacos 3-1 in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
But that will not stop Arsenal from putting their full force into this North London Derby, with more than just points on the line. It is approaching five years since Arsenal last celebrated “St Totteringham’s Day”, the point at which it’s mathematically impossible for their rivals to finish above them, with Tottenham having the last laugh in each of the past four seasons (after a 22-year wait).
Once again Arsenal appear to be falling behind their rivals, with Tottenham currently seventh, seven points clear of the Gunners. For Tottenham, a top-four finish is very much achievable despite some having already written them off.
They are just five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand over the Blues. Jose Mourinho’s side also enter this game in good form, having won five games in a row to overcome a sticky start to 2021 that had seen them lose five in six across January and February.
Arsenal vs Tottenham: Match Stats
Harry Kane suffered a minor knock in Tottenham’s Europa League win over Dinamo Zagreb in midweek, but injury worries haven’t stopped the Englishman against Arsenal before and they likely won’t this weekend. Kane loves playing Arsenal, scoring 11 goals in 14 games against the Gunners and has only failed to score twice in the Premier League. Son Heung-min was Kane’s partner in crime in the 2-0 win earlier this season and the South Korean has scored in each of his past two appearances against Arsenal.
Arsenal do not have a good recent record against Tottenham and given their recent defensive performances, it’s hard to look past an away victory. The Gunners have made errors directly leading to goals in each of their past two games across all competitions, but have also scored in their past four.

1 September 2019 – Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham – Premier League
2 March 2019 – Tottenham 1-1 Arsenal – Premier League

Arsenal are winless in their past five games against Tottenham across all competitions, their joint-worst ever run versus their North London rivals Tottenham, never previously going six matches without victory in this fixture. Kane and Son the goalscorers in the prior meeting this season, putting Arsenal to the sword at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
