Nottingham Forest secured their Premier League safety last weekend with the 1-0 win over Arsenal at the City Ground so this trip to London is bound to be a celebratory event. The Reds spent big last summer but looked set to be on their way straight back down to the Championship, with Steve Cooper’s job seemingly at risk at various points.

But Forest stuck by Cooper and have reaped the rewards, so can start planning for a second campaign in the top flight. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, twisted on their manager, sacking Patrick Vieira and replacing him with Roy Hodgson, which turned out to be a great decision.

Safety was secured quite a while ago thanks to Palace’s run under Hodgson, and now the Eagles are looking to finish 11th and their highest Premier League finish since 2017/18 when they also ended the campaign 11th.

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest: Stats

In Crystal Palace’s recent 2-0 win over Bournemouth, Michael Olise became the first-ever Eagles player to register 10 assists in a single Premier League campaign, overtaking the previous record of nine shared by Wilfried Zaha in 2016/17 and Wayne Routledge in 2004/05.

Crystal Palace have now picked up 10 points in four home league games since Roy Hodgson’s return to the club (three wins and one draw), as many as in their last nine combined under Patrick Vieira (two wins, four draws and three losses) – the Eagles have scored eight goals in the four games under Hodgson, one more than in their final 10 such games under Vieira (seven).

Nottingham Forest have failed to win six games (one draw and five losses) in London in a single Premier League season for the first time since 1992/93 (three draws and three losses), conceding at least twice in each such game in 2022/23.
