Both Newcastle United and Brighton will be looking to build on their good starts to the 2024-25 Premier League season when they meet after the international break.

Draw (11/4 with Sky Bet)
After going unbeaten in their first four Premier League visits to St James’ Park, Brighton are now winless in three with two defeats. But three of the seven Premier League games overall have finished level, with each side also winning two.
Under 2.5 goals (6/4 with Sky Bet)
While Brighton have been fun to watch this season, St James’ Park has been a quite place for goals this season. The three Premier League matches played at the ground so far this season have seen a total of six goals scored. There was just one game with more than two goals scored, Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
How to watch Newcastle vs Brighton live
Newcastle vs Brighton is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 19th October but will not be broadcast live in the UK.
How both teams go into Newcastle vs Brighton
Although both these sides have 12 points from seven games, Newcastle go into the match in a bit of rough form. Before the international break, the Magpies suffered a bit of a winless run. Eddie Howe’s side are currently without a win in their past three Premier League games.
The run started with a 3-1 defeat to an impressive Fulham side, though it was still a bit of a shock result. Newcastle have since drawn with Manchester City and Everton, the latter seeing Anthony Gordon miss a penalty against his former side.
Brighton, meanwhile, went unbeaten in their first five games under Fabian Hurzeler. But that did also include a winless streak. After two wins to start the season, Brighton drew three games in a row including against Arsenal. The winless streak was then extended for four matches as Brighton suffered defeat for the first time, beaten by Chelsea.
But the Seagulls did bounce back before the international break. Brighton trailed Tottenham 2-0 at home but bounced back to win 3-2, claiming a big victory for Hurzeler. It leaves them sixth, just two points outside the top four.
Newcastle host Brighton at St James’ Park on Saturday 19th October at 3pm.
Newcastle team news
Newcastle will be hoping for good news when they return from the international break. Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, Lewis Miley and Martin Dubravka are all in contention to return from injuries before Newcastle face Brighton. But Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles are definitely ruled out, at least until the new year.
Brighton team news
Brighton are also hoping the international break is kind to them. The Seagulls could have Simon Adingra, James Milner and Solly March back in time for their trip to the north. Matt O’Riley’s debut is still a few weeks away, while Jan Paul van Hecke, Joao Pedro and Adam Webster are also out.
Newcastle vs Brighton head-to-head
Brighton avoided defeat against Newcastle in the league last season, the first time they’d achieved that since 2020-21. But Newcastle do enjoy playing the Seagulls at St James’ Park, unbeaten in their past three such matches.
