Man Utd are once again looking to turn things around following consecutive home defeats. Last time out at Old Trafford, the Red Devils were routinely beaten 3-0 by Newcastle just days after another 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City for their fifth league defeat of the season. Three of those losses have come at Old Trafford, with Man Utd also losing on home soil to Brighton and Crystal Palace. Erik ten Hag’s side did get back to winning ways with a late win over Fulham last weekend, but followed that up with a 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Despite recent troubles, Erik ten Hag has won 29 of his 49 Premier League matches in charge at Manchester United and another three points here would see him become the first manager in the club’s history to win 30 of his opening 50 league games in charge. In fact, a win here would see the Dutchman pick up more points in his first 50 league games for the club than both Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal, with only Sir Alex Ferguson picking up more.

Luton, meanwhile, sit in the relegation zone with just one win from their opening 11 games. It’s not been a happy return to the top flight for the Hatters after a long time away, with many predicting them to go straight back to the Championship. And they’re not doing much to prove that they can stay in the top flight. Aside from their sole victory over Everton, Luton have lost seven games and conceded 21 goals, although they were cruelly denied their first-ever Premier League home win last time out against Liverpool, with Luis Diaz equalising in stoppage time at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters are winless in 11 meetings with Man Utd in all competitions (D2 L9) since a 2-1 home win in March 1987, but if they play like they did against Liverpool, they may have a chance of ending that run, especially with Manchester United’s recent troubles. However, if they concede they will become just the second side to not keep a clean sheet in their first 12 Premier League games since Leicester City in 1994.

Man Utd vs Luton match tip

Man Utd to win & BTTS @ 33/20 with 10bet

Man Utd haven’t been too convincing in the Premier League this season, but they will fancy their chances against Luton. The Red Devils have won 29 of their 40 games against the Hatters and are unbeaten in their last 11 (nine wins) side a 2-1 defeat in March 1987. However, Man Utd have kept just three league clean sheets this season, while Luton have scored in each of their past three away league games.

Man Utd vs Luton Bet-Builder tip

Most corners: Man Utd > BTTS > Most cards: Man Utd

As mentioned, Man Utd have a leaky defence, but they rank very high in the Premier League for corners. Only Arsenal (82) have taken more corners than the Red Devils’ 69 in the Premier League this season. However, they also outrank Luton for yellow cards. The Hatters have received just 18 yellow cards in the Premier League so far, with only Arsenal being shown fewer.
