The stats behind our Man Utd vs Arsenal predictions:

  • Both teams have scored in six of Man Utd’s last eight Premier League home games.
  • Arsenal have won seven of their last eight Premier League away games, with five coming by two or more goals.
  • Arsenal have opened the scoring in nine of their last 10 Premier League away games.

Make or break for Arsenal at hated away ground

Despite the gulf in quality between these two teams and recent results, some Arsenal fans may be worrying ahead of their trip to Old Trafford this weekend. With Manchester City facing Fulham on Sunday, there is a chance that Arsenal could go into this game two points off top and need a win to keep their title hopes alive. Or, the Gunners could know they can go three or four points clear themselves.

So, there is a lot on the line. But Old Trafford hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the Gunners. Arsenal have won just one of their past 16 trips to Old Trafford in the league, a 1-0 victory in November 2020. Otherwise, Man Utd have dominated the fixture with ten wins and five draws.

But, of course, there is cause for Arsenal fans to be optimistic. The Gunners have won seven of their past eight away Premier League games, with the only exception being a goalless draw with Man City at the Etihad. They’ve also kept a clean sheet in six of those matches.

Meanwhile, Man Utd have won just two of their past 10 Premier League matches, with one coming against relegated Sheffield United. During that run, Man Utd have lost to Fulham, Man City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace while drawing with Brentford, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Burnley. At home, they have traded wins and negative results, and Man Utd did drop points to Burnley last time out. Could this be a shock win?

Man Utd vs Arsenal match tip

Bruno Fernandes to score anytime @ 4/1 with BoyleSports

Bruno Fernandes was a big miss for Man Utd in their 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, sitting out due to injury. But the Portuguese midfielder is expected to return here at just the right time. Fernandes has scored in three of Man Utd’s last four Premier League home games, netting four goals during that run.

There probably won’t be many meetings between big sides where the away team are such clear favourites. Man Utd are as long as 7/1 to beat Arsenal this season, and it is easy to see why. The Gunners have been virtually unstoppable on the road of late, while Man Utd have been iffy in general.
