Crystal Palace vs Chelsea predictions: tips, odds and team news
Two managers under great pressure will lock horns at Selhurst Park on Monday when Chelsea look to build on their 3-1 midweek FA Cup victory at Aston Villa a victory which looks to have given Mauricio Pochettino some breathing space.
The Blues next face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, with the Eagles having won their last two home league games against Brentford and Sheffield United.
However, heavy defeats at Arsenal and arch-rivals Brighton have left Palace just five points above the drop zone, with some fans calling for change. Roy Hodgson is desperate for a positive result against the Blues.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea odds
*Odds correct as of 12:00 on February 10
Neither set of supporters will go into this game filled with confidence, and there is unhappiness on both sides concerning their owners and managers. For Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson appears to be steering them closer to relegation. Although the Eagles sit 14th, they are just five points clear of the relegation zone and have struggled for form. They may have won two of the last four, but the two defeats have been horrific, beaten 5-0 by Arsenal and then 4-1 by Brighton. The latter also saw Michael Olise brought off the bench at halftime only to succumb to injury nine minutes later, having not been fully fit in the first place.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are suffering once again. The three-game winning streak has proven to be plastered over a crack, and the Blues have lost back-to-back matches to drop into the bottom half of the table. Like Palace, the manner of Chelsea’s two defeats — 4-1 to Liverpool and 4-2 to Wolves (at Stamford Bridge) has piled the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino. There has been no real sign of progression under Pochettino, and some fans have started to call for his head, on top of disgruntlement with the owners. Defeat for either manager here could spell the end.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea match tip
There will have been a huge sigh of relief in the Chelsea camp after they claimed a 3-1 FA Cup victory at Aston Villa on Wednesday and the fixture list looks kind to them as they build some relevance to their league season.
For the second successive campaign, it looks as if the Blues will not stretch beyond mid-table, despite some huge transfer investment, and it was inevitable that Pochettino’s role would come under the spotlight.
However, the Blues next face a team who are not only in poor form but could also struggle to drag themselves out of their current malaise as their two most creative players, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, will not be available to Hodgson.
Home wins over Brentford, who have been struggling on their travels for most of the season, and struggling Sheffield United are not much to write home about, and while Chelsea has not been getting the right results, the talent is at Pochettino’s disposal, and they should have too much for the Eagles.
Palmer can continue a rich vein.
Expect former Manchester City midfielder Cole Palmer to have a strong influence on proceedings and he is a big price to increase his Premier League goal tally from 10 since he made his move from the Etihad.

Conor Gallagher is particularly bad regarding fouls, committing a league-high 50.
